Call me old fashion. But.. Content Sharing

Maybe I'm old fashioned. But, back in the day when, I got started doing nothing on-line mainly in info overload mode ..."I've been there for years but now one of my seeds is starting to grow. It's my Youtube channel teaching language.

Anyway. When I was in info land I, used to see articles saying that Google and the like frown upon duplicate content headers and auto post platforms like tweetdeck etc. Is this still true? Have they changed since? Are there any cautions I should know? Do these things affect "organic rank". Not that I'm above experimenting with paid ads on Youtube though.

I mostly create original headers when I share my own content. But, I see somewhat reputable people promoting these kinds of content sharing tools. Do they hurt your quality in rankings. Does using these 2nd and 3rd party platforms stain your algorithm creditability? What's your take?

It is still true. You should avoid duplicate content and always aim for unique and high quality.

I personally prefer to manually create all my content including any sharing, bookmarking and the like. However there are some great tools out there that do make your life easier which are worth taking a look at.

For instance, I like to use socialomph to schedule my tweets on a daily basis. Instead of going to twitter and sending a different tweet every 30min, I write out all the tweets I would like to send out for the entire week and just schedule them at certain intervals. This sort of automation does not hurt my account or ranking since the content is unique that I wrote.

Just use caution and some common sense when choosing automated tools. Ask yourself these questions:

    1. How long has the tool been around?
    2. Does it have support?
    3. Does it have reputable reviews?
    4. Does it offer a free trial?
    5. What are the features and benefits of the tool?
