which social to use for promoting?

Hi warriors.

I am confused about which social media to use to promote my websites. I have two websites. One is a guitar lessons website http://www.mamamusicians.com and the other is a webhosting and wordpress tutorials website https://www.hostbarrack.com.

Maybe each of them will do better in different social media platforms.

I have already gotten around 3000 followers on twitter and around 2000 followers on pinterest. I only get around 3 visitors max from each per day.

I have been thinking of doing youtube, google plus and linkedin too but I don't have much time to be active on all those social medias.

So what are your suggestions? What would be the best strategy for me? Any suggestions and tips would be very much appreciated.

Also share what social media you use, how much traffic you get from it, how you do it, etc.

Thanks a lot

I would go with Facebook and Twitter still. G+ for communities and then pinterest since you already got a following.

Facebook will let you reach a wide audience of enthusiasts, you can also funnel them into an email list. Twitter can be for content promotions and engagement/support.

    Good luck!

I think Twitter would be best for your hosting related site. Along with that, I think Facebook would be best for the guitar lesson website, lol.. It wouldn't hurt to utilize both across both social media platforms. I'd even throw YouTube in for both as well!

Try to post on all social media sites and then see which one brings traffic. Facebook, youtube works for movies and even for tutorials.
Pinterest is another great social networks that depends on Image attraction.

Every social media website is a good source for traffic. Start with Facebook though, it seems to be the strongest and best option, but do use the other ones mentioned here as well!

Why don't you several several social media sites? In my opinion you should go for Facebook first, the twitter, Google plus etc. You need to join the relevant groups on Facebook and post your link. You can also arrgane a Facebook Campaign.

I think major social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus and Pinterest are best for your business. Read tips on how to use these platforms for increasing traffic. Moreover, you can use different social media marketing tools like Hootesuite, saleoid's social media marketing tool, Meltwater Buzz etc. for managing all the social accounts accounts at one place.

Thanks guys for the tips and suggestions. I really appreciate it.

How do you use facebook and google plus? Do you use a facebook fan page or do you use a personal account for your business?

I've seen that you cannot join facebook groups as your business account. I've also noticed that all the facebook pages do not have much conversation ( only people marketing their own selves in the comments). So how do you connect? And how would go about getting more likes when you don't have the money? The only reason I avoid facebook is because I don't see any ways to communicate with others as the business page account .

And so I was considering google plus which allows to join communities as a business account. But again would you rather use a google plus business page or a personal account? and why?

Too many questions. Sorry about that

    Any suggestions?

You're here to learn, so don't apologize for asking questions I'll try to answer your questions to the best of my knowledge.

How do you use facebook and google plus? Do you use a facebook fan page or do you use a personal account for your business?

I sincerely believe that you should not be using your Facebook and Google Plus accounts for any sort of business. This is because marketing doesn't work well without targeting. You can't indulge in targeting on your personal pages (as far as my knowledge goes). On Facebook, you can run targeted ads, plan campaigns, design a whole profile on it. There's a lot to do. I suggest using a business account on Google plus too for similar reasons plus SEO too. Plus If you use your personal account your friends may just get annoyed.

You need to notice a few different pages that are doing well. I think you went to the wrong lot.

For connecting with your customers, you need subscriptions first so run some well planned and targetted ads relative to your niche. Who are your perspective customers? what are their interests? Which areas do you want to target?

Once you have your target and your ads designed. Experiment with them. you can find some pretty good guides on that online. Once your likes start coming in, you need to keep them interested.

Now lucky for you. You niche is already an interesting one. Since you give guitar lessons, you must be able to play some pretty good tunes yourself. How about playing something for them and sharing the video. Uploading some great music quotes. Uploading funny music memes.
Think a bit different, and give them unique stuff.

How about uploading a free lesson for them. Short and small ones say friday per week. If you make it good, people may recommend you to their friends. Now not all people will have patience to wait a week, so they'll also start signing up for your lessons.

you can also run contests for them. Again your niche is awesome so coming up with ideas shouldn't be hard.

And so I was considering google plus which allows to join communities as a business account. But again would you rather use a google plus business page or a personal account? and why?

I would admit that I am not using Google Plus too often, but I do love the potential it has. I would rather use it as a business page because I want a unique definition for my brand. I want people to see it as a separate entity from me. Plus when things grow, and when I build a page I plan and hope they will. A business page will be easier to handle.
By building a business page, I am showing people I am more professional, and I can connect better with the people sharing my niche.

I would recommend you to work on establishing yourself on twitter too, but I wouldn't recommend that you overwhelm yourself. you need to take it one step at a time. First get one channel done say Facebook, Once you have that up, running and successful, move on to Twitter, then Google Plus, and maybe even Stumble Upon over time.

It seems time consuming now, but once the pages are established its easy to handle. you wold be surprised what social media management tools can do these days. They really lower your work load. Of course I can't stress enough how you shouldn't divide your focus. Work on building one channel at a time so you set the roots of each right.

      Hope this helps

  • I think it depends of the type of contents you would use for promotion. If you want to promote your website by a video tutorial, YouTube and Facebook are the best for such type of content. If you want to promote images, the again Facebook and Pinterest too is a great tool.
If don't have time for using all the tools, organize them on Hootesuite. It can give you a lot of help for organizing your social media.

    Best of luck
