Facebook Recording Shares and Likes of the Web
I just added Facebook buttons to like and share to a website and Facebook's share graphic immediately reported 51 shares.
Apparently, Facebook keeps track of this information about your website, even if you are not connected to Facebook.
A bit creepy, but when adding share buttons you are not necessarily starting the counter at zero, which is nice.
