How to make money owning a google + community

Two weeks ago I started a cooking community on google +. Until now I have around 600 members.
My main goal is to let people post recipes and blogs, to gather people from different cultures.
I also promote my own cooking blog once in a while.

Maybe the amount of members isn't high enough but there's lots of upwards potential.
If I'd promote a brand of oatmeal ( for instance) that I use in my recipes, use it in three recipes every week, that whole community reads it.

I'd definitely want to work with a whole variety of products, take photos, promote it,.....

I don't know if you can put banners or something on it, but there must be potential especially once I've reached a certain number of "members".
Lots of them are recurring and keep posting new recipes, respond to other people's recipes,......

  • How many views do you have so far on that Google+ ?

I noticed google+ gets tens of thousands of views on it's own. Not sure how it's happening though

What you can do is publish the recipe on Google plus and at the end of the article mention the products that you used to prepare the dish. Then link each of them to amazon. Interested people will buy those products online and you will get 4%-6%commission from amazon.

Promoting other products may not be that easy.

You should likely keep building your community before trying to monetizing it
imo you should try sending your members to a website in the same niche or even about the exact same topic and try to make money from that site (use google+ as a gateway)

In two weeks, I've had 50 000 visitors and 650 followers so far.

If you link to amazon, how do they know you have recommended the product.

I logged on to amazon for that program but it's kinda complicated for a rookie. I still don't know how to implement amazon into blogspot ( if someone could explain, do it as you would do it for a five year old :-))

I'm not familiar with Google plus, but linking to a cooking blog where you post reviews for kitchen equipment such as electric mixers, skillets and whatnot could get great results. I know a lot of folks buy kitchen equipment trough Amazon.

Thanks, great tip. How do you link amazon to google plus ( and or your blog), so they know you have recommended the product?

Like I said, I'm not familiar with Google plus, but adding links to blog posts shouldn't be that difficult. You just have to sign up to Amazon's associates program first and get your links.

Its simple. Once you have signed up as an amazon affiliate.. follow the below steps. I had created this for another user on WSO. Hope it will help you

    Thank you, I found that.

So basically, if you browse for a product and get a link, it's your own personal link related to a product?
So before you add a url to your blog you should browse it on your amazon page?

How about shortening the links? Does that make a difference?

Actually you can set up a real shop within the community in form of a slideshow that you pin to the top. Get yourself a number of impressive high quality stock images relevant to your affiliate products, add text and action buttons to them, upload them to Google+, link your image descriptions out to the product reviews on your blog, create a slideshow out of your images, then share it to your community in a post and pin that post to the top. People will view your slideshow and decide what they're interested in.
