Hotel Advertising via FaceBook

Hello!
I would love some guidance for advertising a (5 star) hotel via facebook.

Do i promote the page to non-fans? I read somewhere that its better to advertise to your customers, i mean specifically, get likes from your customers, so you can later advertise your hotel to them etc etc. Is this a good way to go?
How to create an audience? Using existing customer locations? Like if the hotel has alot of Australians, do i promote it to Australia or target another area for more bookings? (id target Australia)

ANY tips are welcomed! Also, if anyone has ever done something similar, what amount of money to use on each campaign?

Thank you in advance!

For hotels it's best to target people interested in traveling.

Of course your past customers would be great to promote to because they have already booked, so if you had sent them to a sales page where you captured their names and emails then you can always get them to re-book by sending them your latest deals. Non-fans are perfectly fine as long as they are targeted, so make sure they are interested in traveling.

To create an audience for free just join several traveling groups and start building relationships with those people by engaging in their posts. Like, share, and comment on the posts you find the most interesting. Once you've been active in a few share your best posts from your page to each of these groups with an enticing description in each one. Try not to write the same description and make sure that the group you post in allows self promotion. Some groups are more strict and only allow certain types of posts so be careful.

If Australians are the ones that book the most you can focus on locals as well as people traveling to Australia.

When you make your posts on your Facebook page always make sure to have an amazing picture or video that shows off the best features of your hotel. Whether it be the lobby, the location, or certain amenities just take the time to really find high quality pics and a great post title to go along with it. Link that post to your blog post from your site where they can read more about this great feature of the hotel and have a call to action at the end of the article to your offer.

    • Yes, you promote it to non-fans. If you have a past customer
list database you can upload it as a custom audience and
advertise to them, with the proper ad creative and funnel you
      can convert them easily.

Forget the likes, don't do a like campaign, likes will come eventually
every time you advertise, focus on sending the prospect and past
      customer to your site.

If you have a lot of Australians, then yes, you can start advertising
to people living in Australia. You also should advertise to other countries
that visit a lot the hotel.

Target interests for traveling, use the FB behaviors to really drill
down the audience, think more like a sniper targeting, instead
      of a shotgun approach.

Sorry I can't really give you any more specific than that, otherwise
you won't learn how to do it, and also I'm currently running campaigns
      for hotel booking :-)

For the money, it just depends on the audience size and the ROI.

A couple of tips, don't target more than 2 interests per ad set, don't
create more than 2 ads per ad set, retarget people that visit your site
and offer discounts or special offers to make them complete the deal,
use either website clicks or page post engagements.

Booking is your primary objective, right? And Facebook is a new communication between your prospects, clients and you, right? Then, to get more bookings, you just need to put your booking system out there, on all channels. If your prospects can book directly from Facebook, Twitter, Pinstagram and Myspath, your sales will boost, right?
