SHOULD I pay people to share my tweets/posts?

Recently, my company has been hiring people just to retweet and share posts, but we don't know if this actually will be worth it. I need to know some thoughts from people here.

SO you know you much we are paying the people we hired:

$5 base weekly and we add accordingly up to $300/week for those with high followers/friends

No, It is not worth and there is no need to invest lots of money only for retweet and share.
If you want to more retweet, then, write informative, unique and impressive tweet on twitter. so that people can gain information and then favorite, share and retweet your post.

I don't think it's worth it, you want your posts to reach people who are interested in your business, and by paying random people to retweet your posts, what are the chances that most of their followers are actually interested in what they share?
It's tempting for people with many followers, because they get paid, but it's not really productive for your business.

I agree unless the followers are very targeted then it is not a good idea promotion wise. The money would be better spent on software to automate your Twitter activities.

You're probably better off reverse engineering your competition's MOST VIRAL pieces of content and asking people who SHARED such content in the past to share YOURS. Since your content is going to be SUPERIOR, you shouldn't have a tough time finding takers.

This way, people are sharing VOLUNTARILY and your content spreads based on QUALITY instead of bribes.

As Slade556 said, you might simply be spreading the word to people that have no interest in your services. You are better off trying to target an audience within Twitter that has an interest in your products. Go to your competitors, see who is following them and involve yourself within those customers.

You first need to know if twitter is the best traffic for your niche. Most people are on mobile using Twitter. Second look at the analytics and track conversions

that company should fire you because prolly 95% of those retweets and shared posts are coming from an addmefast bot that you can push one button with and do the same thing for free.

Rather better approach is to run twitter ads. If run correctly, they can be highly cost effective and targeted.

Simply following tons of people, expecting a % to follow back, then blasting them with ads isn't going to get you anywhere.

If you want to get REAL RESULTS from Twitter, focus on ENGAGEMENT.

    Chaotic,

Time for some positive advice you can actually use…

The short answer is go for it - it’s an excellent strategy if you’re trying to get more exposure on social media. This is the EXACT strategy (well one of a couple you can roll out) where I can take a site from no traffic - to getting 1k unique visitors per day from Pinterest. And Pinterest is just one social media site, it can be applied as equally to Twitter, Facebook and others. At the end of the day, there are people with audiences on every social media platform that will the promote content for you if you pay them, you’ve just got to find them and work out a deal where both parties are happy.

Just make sure you’re tracking your results – traffic, leads captured, sales made. Basically make sure it’s profitable from an ROI perspective (or if it’s not immediately, and is simply an investment in a longer term goal, and the companies cool with that, then no problem either).

Here’s a report I wrote for my newsletter readers that you might find interesting (it’s free)…

...it explains how I do this on Pinterest, and again, you can apply it there, or on Twitter, or Facebook etc.

    Best…

BTW - For some reason a lot of people above are assuming this isn't a targeted strategy - well that ultimately depends on who you're paying to share your content. The most logical method is to approach people that already have an audience that's inline and interested with what you're posting.
