You need to have a target audience, without a target audience it will be difficult to increase your followers because you won't even know what you will post. For example, focus on people who are interested in games and keep them up to date. This will guarantee you to have at least a couple of followers, those few followers will then start using your hashtags and tagging you, which will be free advertising. Once you have established yourself you can then start branching out into other forms of media. Finally, make sure you interact with them.

2. use high quality images and high trending #hastags
3. Vary your tweets , use text photos gifs, etc.
4. Respond and engage with people
5. Find and follow active people
6. Tweet regularly
7. Join twitter chats

Hi, if you want to increase targeted followers on twitter, you have to follow the people in the targeted niche with high follow back percentage. Use some of the free tools like Tweepi to find this twitter users.

Try Triberr There are many niche "tribes" on there that you can be active with. Once you start engaging with others, they do follow back. It grows pretty quickly as long as you follow the rules there and get involved.

Make your profile great, then follow people who resides in US also make sure write in your profile that you are interested in US followers.

I am not sure if all these followers are from US, since most of them are making in the same manner. Takes a lot of time in building these types of people to follow.

Find similar business members of USA and you can follow the followers of that member.
Tweet regularly by using trending hashtags of that particular area where you get on the trending hashtags list.
Do retweet and favorite other tweets.
Don't tweet only your business tweets, share other tweets business related news and trends.

I'd identify my top competitors in that specific niche. From there, I'd look at the frequency of posts, the type of posts, the posts with the most likes, most engagement, etc.

I'd also start following my competitors followers. Typically, they'd follow back. However, if they don't within a certain time frame - I'd unfollow them just because I like to have a clean profile.

Crowfireapp is a great tool to use. As you can follow people with certain "hashtags" and you can add people to your whitelist to make sure you don't unfollow them. Also, this tool makes sure that you don't follow unfollow the same people.

More importantly, try to have full engagement and don't sound like a damn robot where you're just queueing up posts because it's pretty obvious.
