How to Add Members in a LinkedIn Group

Hi

I own a LinkedIn group "Digital Marketing Professionals | IT Consultants"

I want to add members to this group as I want to grow its member base and need your suggestions on how I can grow it. I have already sent member invites to join this group abut that was not that effective. Please suggest.

Regards
AJ

How to get Members in a LinkedIn Group
Maybe start by posting in the appropriate sub-forum.

Promote your community in other related communities you are in. And also in your personal wall. Do every possible sort of promotion where in the user engagement can be increased.

    Hi AJ,

First of all identify a smaller, more-targeted subtopic which is not that over-covered on LinkedIn, I'm pretty sure you'll have more success. Without doing a search I'm pretty sure "IT Consultants" is to broad and general of a term to be unique and eye-catching. You should rather aim for something like Digital Marketing and Online Lead Generation for IT Consultants", something that's relevant to your target audience and your own business, and a more specific topic with much less groups covering it.

    You should also
    - make sure that the group description is optimized to get found for relevant keywords
    - start promoting it in other groups,
    - identify top contributors in similar groups and convince them to join your group as well,
    - post engaging content that people will share
    - share your group on other social media outlets like facebook
    - use paid ads to promote your group

One of the biggest factors is the keywords in your group title. They need to be ones people search for, but not ones that there are already a ton of other groups for already.

Yes, the Title is very important, but the Summary and Descriptions sections are important as well, probably in this order.

As per keywords, keep them relevant, but is said go for specific terms not general ones.

You should post an effective, informative and engaging content in your digital marketing group so that people can attract and join your group. You can also post images and videos that also helpful to make the engagement. Join another group and participate in discussions.
