In simple words yes, you are allowed to post affiliate links on your Facebook page. I wouldn't recommend you to post it directly on your page as its ugly and most people won't be too happy if you start posting affiliate links on your page.

The right strategy in my opinion will be that you first build a strong following, then take the traffic back to your website and do all your affiliate dealings there.

I agree with Markeeter. If your fan page becomes just a place to dump your affiliate links at, your engagement will drop, and sooner or later you'll have no one seeing your post. Facebook choses to show your post depending on how likely they think your followers will like to see your post.

I see many pages that have huge amounts of likes with very little engagement. you can have 1 million likes but if no one sees it, its like you have 0. Post intriguing, fun, engaging content.

For example, if its a social media type Facebook page post things like,

    Post Example:
I think Live Streaming can easily become as big as Twitter eventually. There has been apps like UStream, that never really picked up user base wise. But now we have 4G phones and the timing is right. New apps like Periscope and Meerkat have surfaced and taken off. They are geared to a more casual and less professional user. For the every day person. It's like we have "Live News" in the palm of our hands. Think about it? We will be the ones breaking the news by pulling out our phones and live streaming to the world. It's a game changer and I'm really exciting about it.

What do you think of these new apps? Will you be using them? What do you think is the best ways to use them for your business?

With the post above you gave them great information, your perspective, something fun to talk about and check out. And to top it off you discreetly and genuinely asked them for their opinions. You didn't link them anywhere. You want to help them. And they learned something new from your page. Now they are engaging and you built your self as an authority figure in your niche.

You post 5 post like the one above. No sales at all. You gain their trust.

Then you finally plug something. But when you plug it you do it very intelligently.

    Post Example:
How you doing marketers! I will be having a live seminar via Google+ discussing the new live streaming revolution through Apps like Periscope. I will talk about how now you have the power to engage directly in a more casual way with your fans no matter where you are at. I will discuss how you can use it for your business, and I will be answering all of your questions! Make sure to enter your email at my website to get a reminder, and the exact date of when I go live. www.yourwebsite.com

Even in your plug you are giving them something worth while to go to your website. Now that you have their email, you have direct contact to them. You treat them similarly. Value, Value, Value, Value, plug to your affiliate offer. When you plug make sure they understand why they should visit and why its going to benefit them.

Even if they figure out that its a marketing strategy, they can't resist. Because you are giving so much, and taking so little.

I agree with Markeeter. You are allowed to post affiliate links on your Facebook page. But try to avoid posting affiliate links at the starting. First of all you need to increase as much like as you can. Normally users don't link affiliate link on fanpage. So try to improve the reputation of your page. keep posting unique and useful information on your page. Then you can post your affiliate links.

My team and I have made extensive tests on FB page monetization. In around 90% of markets, this is the approach you should use:

    1. Share content.
    2. Optin popup on content page.
    3. Collect subscribers.
    4. Monetize content 33% of the time.
    5. Monetize website.
    6. Sales funnel.
    7. Re-market subscribers.

On any social network, whether due to issues of reach or implusiveness (like in the case of YT), you should aim to collect subscribers with a view to re-marketing.
