Promoting a business through ads?

I am doing a campaign for a telecom/teleconf business in the US targetting one city. So far, I've gotten only a few clicks per day out of the several hundreds I've reached. For me, the ad looks nice and I got good keywords on it in the "Interest" field. No idea what is wrong. Been running for few days now on a low budget per day.

How many 18 year olds are going to be interested in your service? how many 19-year olds? etc...

I'd start there. Also, how much split-testing have you done? It seems like you are targeting a pretty broad selection of interests, which could also be an issue.

good point. well what age range do you think would be good for conferencing? we target large groups of people working in small/medium/big businesses. so I'm guessing 25-45 years old? we are like skype for large groups of people in businesses.

our niche is teleconferencing, which is basically a sub-niche of telecommunications (a more general term, not very specific). and teleconferencing includes a lot of synonym keywords.

Without doing any kind of research, I'd be throwing darts. You should also be considering who the decision makers are in those companies - they are the ones that would be making purchases, not the regular joes in them.

I can do some research for you but I'd obviously have to charge you for my time.

Just curious but.....is this CTR good? I think I'm averaging 3.5 clicks on a daily basis. Not clicks for facebook likes, but clicks going from the ad to my boss's website.
