Hi everyone!
I have a Start Up that is connected to cars and I have an Instagram account for it with 200 followers. I have likes but I don't really see people coming to my website.
How important is it for indexing by Google and do I really need it? Because I used to spend a lot of time for it.
Thanks.

    Post car images in your instagram profile with your website url, also try to use relavant hash tags in your post

    Instagram can be a good traffic source, but if it doesn't work for you, then try other social media sites. Facebook comes to mind, and Pinterest of course.

      Thank you for an answer, I have Facebook and Pinterest. Pinterest is going really good, but there is almost no conversation, like on Instagram. People just like images and that is all.
      So the question is, do I really need them then?

        I'd say yes, if people are clicking on your images and get to your website this way, that means you get some traffic from Pinterest and that is good. Plus, the more active you are on Pinterest, the more people will re-pin your pics, the more exposure you'll get.

          As I already said, I have created all social network accounts and they are connected between each other.

          The only question is - Is it worth it?
          It's all about time managment. I spend time making unique content and all I get is only 4 visitors per day from Pinterest with 582 followers.

    You may not see a significant increase on your traffic yet if you're not putting the URL in front of the people in every single picture you publish. You may try that first, however, don't expect sudden dramatic changes in the traffic that is driven to the site, you build that patiently and with presence in social media all over the place.

    Unfortunately, Instagram doesn't allow clickable links in the description AND they don't pass tracking data to Google Analytics, so it's tough to tell how many people visit your site from there unless you have a custom link.

    What I did was use the Google URL builder to create a "social" campaign tagged with "Instagram" and masked it with the Pretty Link Wordpress plugin to make it look like gabejohansson.com/ig which is much more appealing than a bitly link.

    I did a campaign where I'd post 2-5 pictures per day with lots of relevant hashtags and a compelling description. I asked them to click the link in my bio and used a hand emoji to point to my IG handle to make it easy to click to my profile.

    During that month, I gained about one hundred visitors but only a handful of subscribers, so I stopped lol

    I know a lot of people who are doing very well with IG but I don't like following too many people like they do. Plus, I only have about 390 followers when my friends who do well have over 2,000.

    As for indexing in Google, I don't think it's that important, but I could be wrong. To be honest, I didn't really think of that until you brought it up here. I'll have to do some research on it.

      I have 564 followers on Pinterest but it doesn't really bring traffic for me (something like 5 clicks per day).
      As for Instagram I also used Google URL builder and masked it with the Pretty Link Wordpress plugin to track campain.
      So it seems like I don't really have to waste my time on it then.

        You can do one of two things in my opinion:

        1. Go all in: follow your max of 7500 targeted IG accounts over a month or two, interact with your own followers, run contests, collab with other accounts, post 3-5 times per day with relevant, popular hashtags, and run 'like' campaigns.

        Or

        2. Ditch em both and invest more time in something else like FB dark posts or SEO

        I've been watching this video by Gary Vaynerchuk pretty much every day lately and I feel like it's helped me grow my blog via social lol

          Gaining A Following With Limited Interaction - YouTube
          Thanks for your advices, I subcribed to Gary Vaynerchuk channel. It's quite interesting what he is saying.
          I think I'm gonna choose second way. Spend more time on SEO and FB dark posts.

            Hey. You can get boat loads of traffic to your car related site if you pay for shoutouts/promos. If you didn't know a shoutout is when a person with a huge following tells their followers to follow your cool car related account. Since your promoting car related business to car related accounts you will be getting as targeted as you can get on Instagram at least for now.

            Here are a few huge car accounts to follow so you can see what type of posts they are making and then you can model that to fit your own needs.

            Cars:
            @carsvideos
            @honda_scene
            @jdmgram
            @modified.autos
            @modifiedsociety
            @nissan_gtr_lovers
            @prestige_whipz
            @rawdriving

            Trucks:
            @allterraintrucks
            @bigbaddiesels
            @chevyoffroading
            @forddieseltrucks
            @nastytrucksnation

            I don't know if trucks will help you but there are some truck accounts. These accounts have an email address or Kik username(Kik I an instant messaging app) in their bio. You contact them and ask for a shout out or promo. a shoutout is when they tell their followers to follow your account and this will get you followers and traffic to your link. A promo is where they post an ad basically of you selling something from your website or account. So if you want followers pay for shoutouts and if you are promoting something like your business or affiliate product then you want a promo.

            If you look at those car accounts they have access to huge amounts of followers which is traffic for you.

            Mike

              I didn't really think about shout outs, but sounds nice. I will look deeper into in. Trucks won't really help me, but you saved a lot of my time giving me those car accounts.

              Thank you!

      I have Twitter and Google+ for indexing.
      Of course, Facebook works good for me but for good effect needs a lot of money and I already put almost 1000 $.

    I'm not sure if I would worry about how your Instagram posts are being indexed by Google or how they are affecting your PR, as I'm pretty sure (almost guaranteed) they aren't even indexed by any search engines.

    Depending on your picture, if you can add some text on top of it with a call to action to click the link in your bio, this could help!

      I thought Instagram pictures could be counted something like external links.
      I have links under every picture but that thing doesn't really work.
