Adsense or Partnership for Youtube?

I'm building a Youtube channel that features toy reviews and unboxings. My channel (I feel) is almost ready for monetization. My problem is I've been hearing horror stories about trolls clicking on ads multiple times just to get a Youtube/Adsense account banned.

I've also heard it's better (and more lucrative) to wait until you can partner with a network, but I have heard bad stories about networks too. Truthfully I'd rather stay independent if I can and still make money.

A lot of the things I've read are 1-2 years old and I am wondering if anyone has any recent experience with using just Adsense for making money on Youtube? Also your opinions and experience with being partnered with a network, like is it really more profitable?

I in no way expect to be rich doing Youtube but I am putting out decent and frequent content and would love to eventually make at least a few hundred a month extra in addition to my normal income.

I used to own a gaming channel and went with curse network. Networks are the way to go for higher earnings, but make sure you do plenty of research on choosing a partnership.

You will usually be locked into a contract when you choose a partnership, so read other peoples reviews on that network first.

Adsense is always the way to go based on the kind of channel that you have. Make sure that you read properly the terms and conditions/policies/rules/etc.

Networks I could recommend based on experience are Curse - 90/10 revshare, QuizGroup - 80/20 revshare, and Exposure [Zommin.TV] - 80/20 revshare

Networks to avoid based on experience are Freedom - 60/40 revshare and Adrev - 55/45 revshare

Still I recommend that you have your main channel on Adsense.

You heard right people really do that!

But don't worry Adsense is a bad source of income anyways. You will need to get millions of real views to even live off of it.

So just a make a niche related website, put paid services on there (paid live streams etc.) and then cash out.
