My new Facebook project needs help.

Hey guys,

I've taken the plunge and decided to start on a Facebook Page endeavor. I've gone for a pretty common theme and called it 'Project Meme'. I'm going to be posting multiple memes daily on the page and hopefully grow a community of like minded individuals from it. (wish me look).

I've got a GFX designer working on a logo and cover art for me but I'm stuck simply on the first hurdle. I've read up about ads and would like to test it out but as soon as I click Create Advert I have about 50 to choose from 'Boost Post' 'Promote Page' etc.

I have 1 like (that's me!), my first goal is to get a base of likes so that I can slowly get some engagement going on, which ad would be best for me?

Secondly, how do I go to other peoples pages and comment as my page to get some involvement there too?

Sorry for the noob questions, expect a few of them throughout the next few weeks ha!

Regards,
Kaelang.

    Hi Kaelang,
Getting started with Boosting gives you a good kickstart. Once you get few hundred likes then pause your paid campaign for a while and share quality content and you will start getting organic likes.
I would not suggest to comment as a page but just contact like minded pages and ask them to share your post on their page sometime people do it for free but mostly they charge for it.

This is something that I've recently become proficient at. I've learned methods after countless fails. I like running Facebook fanpages for fun too. I currently run a page posting memes around a popular Netflix series and It's doing pretty well. I can show you examples of tests that I've run as well so that you can get an idea of how it works.

I'd be willing to give you a hand on a Skype call if you would like. Just let me know!

It depends on a few things. Soon, there will be almost no organic reach on FB (meaning, if you want people to see your post, you'll have to pay). So what is the point of paying a lot of money first to grow a page, if you are just going to have to pay money later to get your fans to see your posts.

One thing I've been doing recently (with good success) is, instead of putting any money on getting likes, I make sure I create posts that are interesting for my target audience, and then I just put more money on promoting the post. I don't get as many fans as if I paid to get likes, but the fans I'm getting are much more targeted and from people who will actually be involved on my page. When you pay to get likes, you don't know what you're getting. Facebook will tell you the likes are targeted, but with so many fake accounts out there, you can't really know for sure. If you're just starting then it means you didn't have a facebook ads accounts before, so if you just created it I'd suggest you get your hands on a $50 fb coupon as you can only use that once when the ads account is new. That should be something like $5-$10 so it will save some money and help you see how ads work.

Next, try asking your friends to like your page, as it's about memes they should all be eager to do it, after that, ask them to share your posts to their friends as well ,this will help get a little snowball effect.

You can join a couple of fb groups that do like exchanges if you want to grow your likes numbers even more, just like other pages and those people will like yours, these likes are not exactly high quality but they will help your page in the beginning to have a decent number of likes and not look totally new.

What you said about commenting on other related pages works too, just go to them and when you post there's a little down arrow from where you choose to post the comment as yourself or the page, do that as well.
