Hello , I took advantage of a free $50.00 Facebook ads credit from my domain supplier and set up my first ever face book ad , it has been running for less than a full day but already the stats show 744 people reached and just 7 clicks to my website , which was the main aim of my ad , but as I have never used facebook ads before I have no way of knowing if these numbers are good or terrible ? It is a ten day campaign so does it sound good or bad so far .Sorry if this comes across as a dumb question , but this is my first website and first foray into this business so I have it all to learn . Any insights from people more experienced in this would be greatly appreciated . Thanks
Paul .

Making money with Facebook ads is all about testing them to get the best results. You probably won't make any money with just $50 because it takes some time to get brand recognition and as you can see, you've only gotten 7 clicks to your page. You may do better adding a funny picture or something to increase clicks. I recently boosted a post for $20 and reached 2,883 people and had about 46 likes of the picture that I had listed for MaxBounty CPA's here http://needbucksnow.com/wp-content/u.../2015/06/1.jpg . Best of luck with it because Facebook ads are a great way to reach a ton of new customers but you may also need to be willing to invest a few hundred dollars 1st

    Hi Moto...

This is an image of one of my fb campaigns:

With this campaign I was able to get 1,247 page likes and reached 18,960 people for $28.34.

The results will vary but one thing to keep in mind.. "If you wish to get the best ROI on fb

You must be as specific as possible with your ads targeting
Use images that will grab the attention of your target audience (The more click throughs you get the more fb will be interested in displaying your ads)

Also, building a FB page and driving traffic to the page for likes has worked out best for me as far as inestment goes.

Check the cost per website click.. how much is it costing for every click to your website as is?

    Hey Moto

From my experience in using Facebooks Ads, if you do not know what you are doing you will lose money.

Simply setting up a Facebook Ad without any prior knowledge or experience is a great way to learn Facebook ads, but it is also an expensive way haha.

The best way to get started is to invest in your education first.

There are lots of FREE Youtube videos, books, and courses which will give you a great foundation killing it with Facebook ads.

I am not going to go into to much detail but to be successful with Facebook you should:

    1. Know who you are targeting: Find out who your customer by knowing who will benefit the most from your producct or service. Is it peole over 40 years old , teenagers, single moms, chefs etc..
the good news is Facebook makes it so easy for you to target the right demographics because they have all the important data and statistics Savvy marketers like us would kill for!

    2. Write great ad copy: To get as many people to click on your ad as possible, you need to write something which will entice them to click. copywriting ads can be a little tricky, but to overcome this find someone who is good at copywriting to write the ad for you!
I personally use Fivver.com, because you can get someone to write your ad for you for only 5 bucks!

    3. Choose an amazing image: It is worthwhile to choose an image which shows the end result of using your product. For example if your product is a diet supplement, a picture of a sexy model will get more attention, than a boring generic image.

If you do those 3 things then you will get more clicks and sales.

However I do encourage you too educate yourself on Facebook Advertising because there is a lot more to it than I and other people here have said.

    Hope that helps

Moto you might have to find something different to offer, or advertise on a different site/venue. Or exit the niche altogether. A 10 day ad and only 7 clicks? Even if those clicks where the highest of the highest quality... seriously, do you think you are going to make a sale on 7 "clicks" to your site? If you're doing lead generation via squeeze page... you're lucky if you get 50% conversion rate -- around 4 subscribers. Have you done Adwords or Bing Ads yet?

Hi , Thanks for all the replies , I have a lot more to think about now , Randall the ad has only been running for one day so far , so nine more days to go , I will report back here after the full ten days are over , and then we will know how it went and what I can learn from it . Anyway it cost me nothing as I got the 50 dollars ad credits for free ,
So it is costing me nothing to learn , and who knows after ten days I might have more people on my list at worst , or at best I may have made a sale , see you in ten days . Thanks again for all the useful advice everyone

    Paul,

If I were you, I would find a good mentor who is doing really well with Facebook marketing and see what they are doing to have success. Some sort of a video on YouTube is the way to go. You might find some people there who are sharing their secrets to effective Facebook marketing techniques.

If you don't find anyone there and have to pay a small fee to join an online course, it is going to be all worth it.

...and there you have it. FB is a great source if you use it right, but you need to use it indirectly. (In other words, I would have a fanpage that had all my site's stories and links of interest on it. Then, I would use the Facebook ad to get Likes to the fanpage). You can target groups with the ads of like interest. With $50, you could probably corral 200-1000 likes, depending on your niche and CTR.

Check out Jerry Banfield's stuff here and on YouTube. He's got some great FB marketing vids.

The CTR is definitely not good. How much have you spent on ads yet? Depending on the niche, you should always aim for $0.01 to $0.05 cost per click.

Hello , Exactly ! I deleted three of my ad pictures , that were not getting many clicks , and now just use the ones that are getting most clicks , today is the start of day four and I am at 27 clicks at a cost of 49 cents per click so it is heading in the right direction , This is just a test for me as the advertising credits were free , but already I have several ideas about what changes I need to make to my campaign to make the next ad campaign even better . Six days left to go ....I will keep up to date progress reports here and see how it goes , Thanks .

    Are you making profit?

That's probably the most important thing to ask yourself.

Everyone is going to have various numbers for different niches and goals.

    Money in VS money out

Okay , we are 5 days in and have reached just over 5 thousand people but still only have 50 clicks to my website , On Monday my stats nosedived for some reason , so I went in and made some changes , changed sign up to learn more , and changed the picture and things picked up a little ,we will see how it goes from now on .
So far I am getting 10 clicks to my site for every thousand people reached .
Halfway in and not even one sign up to my list does not look good , I have been thinking of a total site makeover and offering a better free gift , also I may have to look even closer at my targetting for my next campaign after this one has run it,s course and my site is revamped .
But on the positive side , this is costing me nothing and so far I have learned a lot about Facebook ad,s and just how to get the best from them .
      Lessons learned so far ?
      1. My site needs a total makeover !
      2. I need to offer a much better free gift !
      3. I need to be more Focussed when it comes to Targetting !
      4. I need to provide FAR BETTER VALUE ! to potential customers .
      5. I need to stick at it and know that this is a marathon and not a sprint .

Hello , well the ten day Facebook ads campaign has just ended , and the results are as follows .
      People reached 10,482
      Clicks to my site 112
Cost per click average 45 cents
So now a lot more people know about my site but , not one person was added to my list as not one person signed up for my free offer
What this tells me is that my website and offer is not fit for purpose , I will remake everything , new free offer , new copy , new images .
This has certainly been an education and as such I do not see it as a waste , after all the $50.00 ad credit was free So I have spent nothing of my own money and learned quite a lot , and more people now know about the site .
Targetting is all important it seems when it comes to Facebook ads so next time I expect to do better .

PPC or pay per click is all about testing. you want to get a winning campaign. But for that, you need to do various tests with your ads, pictures, landing pages etc.

Hi ,Martworld , yep That is the plan , my landing page is clearly not good enough .
With just over one hundred clicks to my page I would expect at least 2 to 4 signups . Back to the drawing board and more tests .

Stats are trully terrible. It looks like you are targeting totaly wrong my friend. You can search that forum for a lot of usefull topics about targeting. You can go also to get some Udemy course or simply hire someone who will do that for you.
