Content Locking for Facebook likes on website?

I know that Facebook started banning "like-gating" or content locking on their own site and on apps.

However, I still see several websites using these "content lockers" on their own sites. So you have to LIKE the page in order to see the rest of the content on the site.

I was wondering, is this still acceptable to do? Or will Facebook ban your account if they find this being done on your own website? thx.

It's your site you can do it . But if you advertise they might refuse the ad.
Also keep in mind when you do that kind of stuff people will complain a lot and this will go at cost of visitors to.

This is an antique way of doing things online. If you haven't started doing this yet, don't start. if you have, stop doing it.
