social media first timer

So I guess I am moving toward social media marketing but before I do, I have narrowed down 5 social medias to promote visitors and traffic to my site.
I need help in that if I never marketed on the below social media, what would a first timer do to go about promoting his content blogs/landing pages using.....


1. facebook fan pages
2.twitter for BUSINESS
3. tumblr
4. pinterest
5. Google +

    I do not think switching to other MXH be effective, if you do not do well.

    I start liking FB page when I got into marketing. Additionally, I start checking Twitter when I know about getting traffic on Twitter. Clearly, you can see that I get involve in these social media things because of marketing. It shows that I don't even care about FB page or Twitter before I do marketing. For a normal person, they have social network and they can be like me. They may not care about FB fan page or any other things. If you think about driving people to your blog using social media, I think you may not get the normal person because they don't know about fan page or any stuffs about Twitter. As a result, you can get gurus in internet marketing trying to socialize to drive traffic to their blog. You can see that this is like a traffic exchange. So, people exchange clicks and views for their blog but everyone doesn't want to spend money. It is gonna waste your time getting lots of views and clicks but no cash.

    Start by creating your accounts on all of them, every time you post something on your site share it on your social accounts. Start growing those social accounts to get more likes, firends, shares and so on.

    It will be a little hard to start with all of them, I'd suggest you take them one by one and learn a little how to do it properly on each platforms first, then move to the next one.

    For the very beginning I would totally choose Facebook as this is probbaly one of the most universal social media site for online marketing. It covers almost everything that other social media sites offer - you can start paid advertising campaign depending on what kind of needs you have - page likes, conversions and etc. Also, as for the beginner, I thing Facebook is the most easy to manage and understand.
