Getting followers with ads, should I keep going?

So I am doing okay at getting followers, I am using facebook, twitter, and pinterest.

I'm using paid ads for followers on twitter and facebook. Pinterest doesn't have that specifically but I get followers by promoting pins.

I make 1000 dollars a month and I am already spending 90 a month on ads (small I know!) but that's where I'm at.

I can see good engagement and increased traffic, and I know I sell more when I get more traffic but since I make so little I am afraid to spend more money - especially since I don't know how much more I need to spend to start seeing sales from my own efforts.

The increased sales I see are from other people promoting my work...like when I get a feature on a popular site or blog but I, myself, am not popular.

So should I increase the amount I spend each month on getting more followers so I can be popular and promote myself?

Thanks!

Followers are useless if you don't build relationships with them. Most people follow you just to advertise themselves. Paying money to get followers makes no sense. Advertise your opt-in incentive to get people to your sales funnel instead.
