Pinterest pins don't show up in searches

Hi everyone,
Hopefully you can help me shed some light on this subject. I have a few Pinterest boards and I like to make my own memes with a link to my blog site. I have under 100 followers because I'm still new to Pinterest, but I do get a lot of pins. I find that no one is pinning any of the memes I make. It turns out, no one knows they exist, because they're not showing up in the Pinterest searches.

I read the Pinterest ebook on how to search optimize my memes and did everything they said to do. I use descriptions for each meme with the relevant words people would use when searching for photos in my genre. I put my web url in the web url field when I post each photo. I also use the hashtags. Still my photos don't show up anywhere. The book also said that in order for pins to show up in searches, they have to have been pinned a lot. How do I make people aware of my pins when they don't show up in searches?

    Hi Elle,

If you want your pin(s) to be viewed by more people, why don't you join to other board which has thousands of members and most of the pins have repinned, likes or comments. Boards that have the same pins as what you are pinning.

    Goodluck!

Thanks! I'll try that too. I'm open to any suggestions on optimizing though. I know I'm missing something.

People don't seem to visit one another's boards so much. It seems everyone is just pinning from what shows up in searches. I'm seeing the same old pins circulating.

Some people have invited me to pin on their boards. Starting to see some results.

It can take up to a week sometimes. Usually mine show up within a few days, but on occasion they do not show at all (maybe 1 in a dozen). They've got a strange algorithm now to deter spammers who try to manipulate their search results, which is why I assume so many people are having this problem.

    So here is my advice...
    Wait a few days
Repin your pins and see if they show
Post your pins on a secondary profile and repin to your own and see if they show
Use a link shortener every now and then if you are going to continue to share the same link
Don't attach a link to every single pin you make...After every 4~5 posts, pin something, but don't attach any links to it.

Just play around with it and eventually you will find the magic formula that will work to your benefit.

Also, I'd like to add that the ebooks are not always the most reliable sources of information when it comes to social media marketing Even if they are only a few months old, it is likely that the site has updated since the book was written so much of the advice is likely to become outdated.

    All the best,

      All the best,
Thanks Bran the Man! I already tried repinning them, but it may be too soon to tell if they show up in searches.

If I make a secondary profile, won't they know because my IP address will be the same?

That sounds like a plan to not attach a link to every pin I make.

Not sure what a link shortener is.

I bought Thomas Mitchell's ebook (WolfWebMarketing.com). I am such a newbie, I feel this will help me with Facebook too.

If not, send me a message, I have an ebook from someone that I think might help.

It does take a few days for them to appear in the search (as someone else mentioned) but also, Pinterest users don't always search for things to pin. Many times they repin what they see on their home feed or on a specific board they visit. So keep pinning and you should see results.

I'm finding that pins that are new or never been repinned don't generally show up in other people's feeds. I have to rely on people coming to my board and liking my pins there.
