I have a doubt that if we will get backlinks from a movies related blog to our website which is related to software field.

Does it helps to improve our website rank in search engine result pages?

    They definitely won't hurt, but getting backlinks from websites in the same niche will help your ranking ALOT more.

    A few backlinks from some unrelated sites should probably be okay if they are high pr. It's always best to build them from related content, but a little diversity every now and then would be alright I suppose
