Well, since instagram is a image-based platform, then post attractive and high quality images. As an instagram user, that's what catches my attention. Using appropriate hashtags will also help to get followers.

Well it is little bit difficult to promote the business on Instagram. There are only 15 - 20 % active users on Instagram as compared to Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus. If you have already business page on these social media channels then, it is good to get socialize with Instagram. Attractive posts such as eye caching images, videos will help you to promote your business.

One of the best strategies I use for the accounts I am managing is to set a focus hashtag for the week or month. 2. Like. Like A LOT! Go to the feed and like a lot of pictures. Not at all once, but throughout the day

3. Comment a lot as well. I read somewhere that likes to comments ratios was like 87:1, so it's only normal that comments carry more value. Plus you get your username in front of a lot more people. Do this also throughout the day.

5. Follow influencers as much as you can. Same strategy as Twitter, plus you'll get in front of a lot of people interested in a specific topic
