Facebook ads - stealing from me

Today i was advertsing for likes . I set a max of 50€ to spend.
I was getting likes at 0.07 / like which was good and i had the ad running to spend cash across the day.

Now i wanted to speed things up a bit and i upped the amount to 500€ a day .
But in like 30 min the 500€ was all used up !
Instead of 0.07 i was paying 0.43 per like.

I did not ask to sped that in 1 time ? This is not set like this and yet this has been done and the likes suddenly costs so much more !
i still have 8 hours left in the day ...

Is there something that can be done about this because this is just WRONG!

Have you tried changing your budget and maximum bid?

Budget was used up 500€ . So max bid is always optimized .
But they spend the budget to fast . not spread over a day like the ad settings were set to

hmm, sorry to hear that, it happened to me once, but I spent 100 bucks with 0.23 per like. immediately I reverted back to 20 bucks per day.

i think its because the budget is so low that you're only taking the remnant impressions.. (ie the leftovers)..

Oh stop, nobody is stealing from you. You set your budget to 500/day and they used it as requested. Just because you don't know how to use the interface doesn't mean they "stole" from you.

This is why smart marketers pay an expert to run their campaigns. When you DIY without knowing what you are doing, this is what happens.

I spend over 10k euro in advertising on Facebook ... i know what i am doing . I also know when the settings are set to spend the budget over a day that that is always what it does .. spending over a day and not in 20 min

How much you spend isn't a reflection of whether you know what you are doing or not. Making "they stole from" me claims and asking why your cost per action changed don't exactly exude "experienced" in my book.

I don't know how you have your campaigns setup but I can say it's difficult to take you seriously when you make the "stealing" claim.

Well don't take me serious but don't reply then anymore .
If they spend my budget that should be running an entire day and spend that money in 20 min yeah i call that stealing.

If you would rent a car for a day and after 20 min they say ok you are done .. what would you say .. thank you maybe ?

    And just a little update.
I got a call from Facebook telling me that there is actually something not right. So it seems it's not my fault. The campaign should be running an entire day and budget was spend in 30 min . So it seems i do know what i am doing ... what was claimed otherwise .

I'm glad to hear that they're acknowledging an error on their part and hopefully they'll make things right with you. But saying they "stole" from you rather than thinking that possibly a mistake had been made is wrong on your part. You probably should have contacted them about it before you came here saying they stole your money.

  • I am curious, did you actually get the impressions and and clicks during that "supercharged" ad time?

0.07/like Great that really great startegy to get likes on facebook page but you can decrease your per like cost up to 0.001/ like. keep doing it and you will get one like at 0.001/like.
    Best of Luck.

I personally like "SLOW COOKING" method which always works for me.

Start with $5 per adset with 5 interests and let it run for 24hrs
Next day increase it to $7.50
      3rd Day - $12
      4th Day - $20
      5th Day - $30
      6th Day - $50
      7th Day - $80

All this granted your ads are performing at 10 or higher CTR

My biggest campaign which sold over 750+ and generated about 12k in profit had 15 ad sets from beginning at $5 each. As days went I shut down low performing ads and used those ads budget to put towards other better performing ads. By day 3 I already knew which ads were killing it and which didnt so I kept best 5 and boosted $50 each per day.
By day 5 I was spending close to $400 a day on ads but I was selling 100-120 shirts a day which was a great ROI.
Make sure to use Pixels and Retargeting!
        Day 1 use PPE
        Day 2 use PPE
Day 3 use PPE and WC
And so on... WebsiteConversions are your best friend and so if your retargeting.once you get 100-200 in your pixel you should create 1-2-3-4-5% Lookalike audience and thats where real money comes in

    Another update:

I got a refund from Facebook ( not the whole campaign ) .
I asked for a compensation and they gave one .. that's like admitting something was wrong .

    Anyway glad with the outcome.

Did they happen to know what cause the sudden increase per "Like"?

For me that was stealing. Charging 20 times the amount i would pay on a like .. Taking money from me in a way i don't want .. just wrong.

What i would do is just place small budgets at a time so that even if the price does jump up like that you haven't lost a big chunk all at once.
It's a bit more maintenance but at least you won't lose so much money
