Do we really need great content for Facebook Marketing

I have been reading at multiple places that in order to engage (likes, shares and comments) one should post great content on fan page. Is it really mandatory. I am not a good content writer not I have money to get the content created by outsourcing it.

Does that mean that I cant do online sales using Facebook marketing or their is some alternative to it.

Try to remember that "content" isn't strictly written material. It can be videos, sound files, or even simple images. The key to making Facebook work is generating content - in whatever form -- that your friends will share with their friends (and on and on and on).

    That's it.

Such a great point. I think sometimes people forget that "content" doesn't just mean written content, but rather encompasses several types of content.

If you want people engaging with your content, it has to be good. However, "good" doesn't need to be "yours". It can be links to other stuff, videos, etc. Heck, I run a few autoblogs (yes, autoblogs) that run on PLR (high quality PLR, that is) that's also shared on their matching Facebook pages. Engagement is through the roof.

As long as your readers find the content interesting, they will engage with it.

Finding a really good image can help you boost attention. And make a headline that captivates your users. You really don't need original content but instead "curated" content. Find good things that exist like videos and images and post them to your audience.

You focused too much on written content. As it was here previously siad, you can use videos, news, photos, anything can actually engage people in some sort of interaction via Facebook.

I absolutely agree with the others. You want something that's interesting to your followers to keep them coming back for more but it doesn't have to be your content.

Facebook announced they’ll ban like-gating in November. An end to like-gating doesn’t have to be the end of the world–or your Facebook marketing.

obviously yes, great and good content is required for every marketing strategy if your contents are not good than how you think that customers or users give attention to the post.

Start by linking and sharing content that is relevent to your business from other pages, then when you get a feel for what your audience responds to best you can maybe start doing some writing of your own.

First, say to yourself, "I can write content." And repeat it alot.

Content is about something useful that people can use mostly to solve a problem.

Fire up Google. Put your subject in and go do some research on your niche, topic, etc.

Read and find information that is relevant to your niche and look for stuff that is unique and apart from whatever anyone else is writing. Cut and paste and put it in a Word Doc. After you're done, pick 3-5 topics/items on that list. Then pick which one(s) you would like to write about.

Look at how other articles are written: Pretty much, most of those articles follow this process.
    1. Introduction 2. Tell Them What You Are Going To Tell Them 3. Tell Them 4. Summarize.

Chin up and try it. You might surprise yourself.

You can get a good article done for $5. Then break that down into posts for your page.

Find a royalty free image and turn it into a meme with a sentence or 2 from the article.

If your content is worth sharing, people will do the rest for you.

If you have no content on your Facebook page, how do you propose to get people to engage?

As we know, content is king.If someone will reach your site then he/she will see first your content and will like to understand the items and services provided by you or your business.

Good content in facebook marketing/ social media marketing does not mean you have to post a 500-word well-written article. A simple image that represents your brand , infographic or a meme related to your niche is enough to grab the attention of your target market.

Those who said that the content doesn't need to be 'your' content are absolutely correct. Of course, give them credit - but sharing videos, pictures, inspirational quotes that would appeal to your audience will get great feedback and have great reach.

Even if you don't have a huge budget, you can usually hire on a social media manager to create some basic graphics for you to post/promote that will look professional. Visual content share better and draws more attention.

"Great" is relative. It's better to be useful/engaging, something that your audiences will respond to. As others have said, it doesn't need to be yours, and it doesn't need to be some well written essay on a topic. Graphics, charts, funny, "sticky" things. There are free tools and many easy ways to find fresh content that has done well in any niche.

Many sites (and their social profiles) are even successful by primarily curating content. For example, a crafts site might find a bunch of articles on DIY Halloween Decorations or something, then make their own "17 Cutest Halloween Cat Decorations You Can Make From the Dollar Store"- or something. Then they make their own graphic for it and post that. Just as one example.

Sometimes posting a pic or video with nothing else does better than some high-quality, well written material.

I agree with what you've been reading. Quality is always better than quantity. The amount of posts does not equal to the quality of the posts that you'll share on your feed. What I'm trying to say is, if you're posting just random posts and really have nothing to show, no one will give you attention. But as long as you have a nice and engaging content, people will give their attention to you.

Posting funny images with cool captions is always a good idea and people will like it (who doesn't like to laugh!).
As many before me said, you can share other people's articles, you might even get their followers to see your page if you tag them in a post

It is reality that "CONTENT IS THE KING" so no matter that where you want to use it, your content should be unique and relevant to the topic.

Echoing what others have said really, but you don't have to be a good writer to post engaging content on Facebook. In fact, you don't have to be good at creating content at all. Social media is typically 80% content curation - relevant links, images and videos - from other sites. Curate content and attach your own message/opinion to it. When it comes to creating your own content, you can post quotes and quality images using tools such as Pablo by Buffer and Canva. You can also encourage engagement by asking followers questions - Who, What, Which, Why and How.

    I hope that helps!

    NO!

Best strategy to grow you fan page and increase engagement is to post any image that will go viral including landscapes, funny quotes, etc. (DOES NOT have to be about your FP)
    • In the description put "TAG, SHARE and LIKE".
    • Boost the post for 1$ to you target audience so only they see it.
    • Your target audience will like the image .
    • then you as admin can invite the people who like the image to your fan page by clicking on their name when liked.
Cool strategy and a lot cheaper than paying for page likes as you are encouraging engagement which will give you lots of organic like as well.

When it goes to sales, I believe you should use facebook ads, it's the way to sucess, but jsut be patient and wait, stick on your strategy. As for content, try to be clear and do not write long texts, just give people waht they want f=wit hthe first 3-4 lines of your text, they will be thankful.

As many have said already, good content that people enjoy is what gets attention. But making a funny picture is pretty easy compared to writing a blog post. If you cant write go on Photoshop to make something funny.
