Is 'FB Like for Content' locker on Website Allowed?

Last year FB announced that they would ban pages that uses 'Like Gate' to lock content.
Did it include websites or just pages on facebook.com?

It's been a year and I want to know the update of it.
Are websites being banned if they use the like-content locker on their website after that announcement?

If there is a ban, what type of ban is it?

Thanks.

I know sites who have that for ages and still not banned

The other day I read that the ban will take effect in October but I don't remember the details. I'm sure you can find information by doing a search on Google, though.

Yes, it was October last year.
That why I posted the question to see if that's actually enforced on websites, since it's been a year.
