I was wondering if anyone would like to comment on what appear to be very arbitrary and inconsistent decisions by Facebook on business ads. One of my clients is a dentist and Facebook has taken to not allowing pictures with smiles of nice teeth to be shown. A post of a person with a nice smile is boosted and Facebook editors do not approve it. They say it depicts too perfect of a body image. How are dentists supposed to market their skills? Snaggle teeth aren't going to get them business. There are also times these kinds of posts are approved by Facebook and when the weekend rolls around, they are not. There seem to be some incompetent editors over at Facebook that are making it tough for business.

Any thoughts?

I am completely frustrated with the route that Facebook is going all together. First businesses spend a lot of time and effort building fan pages where people followed on their own volition, and the posts hardly get any views. The only way is to pay them money on ads. So, of course started advertising. One thing I noticed was the amount of clicks to the website that I was promoting were reported 4x the amount of visitors that Google analytics reported.

I'm am pretty tired of face book's new business strategies.

I am extremely frustrated with Facebook's "consistent inconsistency".

But I'd place the blame on the higher ups at FB. While it appears that the Mods at Facebook have no idea what should be allowed and what shouldn't, I wouldn't blame the mods as their bosses likely haven't put a clear system in place that they can follow.

Hopefully more and more people continue to complain about what is going on and Facebook will start to get their act together. But seeing as they usually make their own rules and play by them, you never know, all I know is that it can be run a hell of a lot better.

    Hello there!

Every sites has there own rules and regulations. Why facebook is doing that no one knows only them.

However you can keep on posting on that page of yours and make high quality content attached to it. This way facebook may see it as friendly and informative.

No one will delete an informative and useful post after all. Also try posting videos and other stuff, try vary your posts.

Thank you everyone for replying to my post. Does anyone have any suggestions on how marketers can reach the people in charge at Facebook? It is apparent that their consistent inconsistencies and arbitrary decisions are hampering marketers. It certainly is totally ridiculous that they view pictures of nice smiles for a dentist as something that is not allowed for instance. How do we get Facebook to change? Or should their apparent arrogance be met with resistance and we rule with our wallets by advertising on other sites? I have never seen anything like it! Blatant and arbitrary arrogance for sure.
