Hi,

I am posting vegan food on my instagram account. I am getting 20-40 likes on every picture, but not a single follower. Am I doing something wrong here?

Try including the ingredients in the text for the ones where you indicated "ingredients" for the image (the spelt one as an example.) The pics are beautiful. However, try to make them useful by adding the recipe. Also, add the English translation as well. That would probably help. I think they love the pics because they are gorgeous, but many English speakers may not understand the language.

Also, build out your profile a bit better to let users know what you are about.

    Recap with a few extras:

    1. Add use to the text: include ingredients and/or recipe
    2. Add English translation
    3. Keep your hashtags to around 11.
    4. Make sure your sharing to hashtags that don't get like, 1 image every few seconds. Go for related hashtags that may get more like in the 80k instead of millions.
    5. Build out your profile a bit. Add some emojis to make it fun.

Test that out and see if it helps.

Also when your not logged into the account and uploading pics you may want to run instagress.com on your account. It's getting me approx 5000 followers per month by doing manual following, commenting and liking. You can also follow all the followers of a certain user so you could follow all of the followers of this account if it fits yours or search for others - @videomeals

They now have a cool new feature where you can comment and like on the followers of someone so you can engage with people is your niche on autopiliot. Don't forget to go into your account like once a day and engage back with your followers or commenters.

    3. DON'T BE BORING
    4. USE INTERESTING HASHTAGS...
    5. ..BUT DON'T USE TOO MANY
    6. INTERACT WITH YOUR AUDIENCE
    7. TAKE A GOOD PHOTO
    8. EDIT YOUR IMAGES
    9. GET FEATURED
    10. TAKE SMARTER SELFIES

People may be discovering your posts from the hashtags. Include a call to action in your photo captions to follow you for more food ideas!

I know your page is for vegan food only, but the pictures are very much the same, albeit very beautiful. Try adding variety. People want to follow a page with personality, someone they can interact with. Switch it up a little bit!

    Hi,
I think your photos are fantastic, which is why you are getting likes. But the reason you are not getting followers is that the photos are not giving enough value to make a viewer feel they need to return. A picture of a vegetable might be well done, but what is it doing for the viewer other than giving them a pretty picture? Think in terms of adding value: take pictures of mostly created vegan dishes and include the recipe and maybe a few notes about how you made it or what is great about it for you. You need to offer more than just your great photos; you have to offer something people haven't seen before; teach them something they have never heard about before. Hope that helps!

Well, you can add some recipes for each vegan food that you posted on Instagram. You also can use the hashtag that related to your post.

Use hastags, use terms that people who are vegan would be using.

I'm by no means a professional Instagrammer but I did run a food account for about a month and got some pretty good results, at least in my opinion.

After a month I had just under 1,500 followers and I was only following 100 throughout the whole month.

    Here's what I did:

    1. I took high quality photographs of every desert. I used a high end DSLR, good lightning and nice backdrops. Edited them in lightroom to make them as good as possible.

    2. On every post I wrote "Recipe in bio". In the bio I had a link to my website.

    3. Went into hashtags and liked all the pictures related to my niche. I also left loads of comments on peoples posts.

I did this for a couple of hours per day, usually landed around 100 followers each day, sometimes less, sometimes more.

try to work together with other instagram accounts so they promote your account, you can also make your account private so they have to follow you in order to see what you put on it.

Follow more people, those who liked your photos. Like people photo's, make comments. If you want real followers it is all about interaction.

follow 100 targeted people a day. Maybe 30 will follow back. Within 10 days you will have 300 new followers.

Very nice account and great pictures! Seems that you're doing it right and I don't see a reason why people are not following you. My only advice would be to try some auto-liking apps (Instagress, for instance). It worked pretty well for me and some of the people I know. You won't get a tone of followers the first day, but the count will slowly grow if you use the right settings.

Most likely it's because its automated tools liking your pictures. Best way to organically grow followers is doing shoutout exchanges with other users. You can check out Chamboost to find others alike.
