I put up a youtube video about a year ago to send traffic to my main website and pretty much forgot about it, I get ok traffic from the video but I went into youtube the other day and saw i had about 10,000 views. Now my question is should I monetize the video and how. I often see when I am looking at other peoples youtube videos where there is a 20 second commercial plays before the video, is that how I monetize my video and can I choose what kind of commercial youtube plays.

    You can choose how you want your ads to appear if you want small banner adds in bottom, videos, and so fourth, it just depends what you think its best. In the setting you can hit monetize video and you can choose. However, if in a year you got 10k hits which is not bad but you wont make much of monetizing it. If you are getting leads to your site than you probably make more from that then placing ads.
