Cost Per Lead Variance

I am new to this forum and new to Facebook advertising so any help would be greatly appreciated. First of, I ran a couple test campaigns on Facebook with some good results. Best ad had a CPC of $.29 which I thought was pretty good. So November 2nd, I took a leap of faith and ran a ad for $100 for just one day between the hours of 9am-6pm. This worked out pretty well, I received a few calls and a lot of web forms. I decided to run the ad from Nov. 3 to Nov. 6 and I had received very favorable results. Basically, costing me about $6 a lead which I am very happy with. So I ran the ad on November 9 and 10 and it was a completely different story. My cost per lead sky rocketed to about $35 a lead. My questions are the following:

1. Is this type of variance normal from week to week?

2, Since the holidays are coming up( this industry I am in has nothing to do with holiday season) does this have big effect on cost per lead?

Also, the landing page and the ad were exactly the same each day I ran it. Thanks for answering all my newbie questions.
