Uploading the same videos on Youtube

Hey warriors.. I have noticed something since a long time ago and am confused with it.. I have seen in Youtube that a particular video could be posted by different channels the same video itself..Im wondering if this is OK to do...if it is not OK then why they do and still why those videos exist?

Secondly, if im looking to promote affiliate products, then can I just upload the vendor's video and then try to rank that video and try to make sales as an affiliate? Am I doing something wrong by uploading the same video of the vendor to Youtube?

And then if i want to upload someone else's video and if it is not ethical to do in youtube, then what could I do to get around this problem..and if i edit the video here and there, does it make my video mine? what makes a video an original video or what makes a particular video mine if I want to upload it to youtube?

I'm confused..Please advise.. Thanks a lot!

Much of the stuff on Youtube is Fair Use

If you want to copyright your own original videos, you can do so. The video is yours if you created it using original material.

A legit way to do what you are asking about is to go to : https://www.youtube.com/editor

and do a search for CC videos, which means Creative Commons licensed videos, and enter the keyword for videos with whatever keyword you are interested in. Do a search for "your keyword" under the CC section and find related videos which you can use without getting in trouble

When you find a Creative Commons licensed video which is related to your keyword, you can edit it, add slides, photos, text, etc. to it and then upload it to your own account with a different title, description, etc.
