15K Fans and posts reach 20 people only!

Ok, so we were very active previously, then for the past 4 months we stopped completely posting anything on FB due to a health issue. Is this the reason that now oour posts reach 20 people only?

Will this be better if we promoted our posts for a bit until we can get to reach the 17% reach claimed by FB?

Kindly, help us as this is really annoying

Inactivity can certainly lead to engagement drying up, yes.
Before this 4 month dry spell, were your activity levels good?

How many out of your 15k fans were engaging on a regular basis with your content? (Likes, comments, shares, favourites etc. whatever it may be...)

That is due to inactivity, how long have you stop updating the page ?

And what is the content of your page?

Ok guys, thanks a lot. Now I undestand its because of inactivity, can it get back to normal by paid boosts? I am ready to pay to get it back if this helps!

Facebook changes their algorithm in much the same way Google does; abruptly, sometimes without warning, and inexorably. Sometimes, you can check the Facebook business news - https://www.facebook.com/business/ne...ch-on-Facebook - to see warning or announcements of those changes. Sometimes, they happen behind the scenes and are barely acknowledged.

And don't forget to check this link I've shared with you!

However, here's other facts that could be the case:

You’re using third-party tools for scheduling.

Your content is overly promotional. Your Facebook page shouldn’t look like a flyer with a bunch of ads for discounts on it. Not only this turns off the users, Facebook even punishes that kind of activities!

We are not promotional at all! Check our correct Facebook page!
We only put our recipes in there, we didnt put a single promotional thing in there!

Page inactivity can lead to low engagement. I have seen this in the past with some of my pages.
Before investing money into it, try to be more active, start posting daily or twice a day for a month. If after one month you don`t see a good response you can boost your page by investing money in it

Try to increase your activity. Ask peers to share your posts. Tweet about your page, if necessary. This is most certainly happening due to inactivity.

    Facebook does this to everyone:

first you pay to get fans

then you pay for each one of your post, to reach a percentage of your fans

facebook simply became so greedy that it is not worth it anymore

Increase your facebook activities, running a facebook contest would be helpful. Post beautiful images with your recipes, interact with your follower and manage your stuffs well to increase engagement.
