Best way to overcome this potential FB ads issue?

So a few years back, I'd discovered that FB groups were beginning to get popular. I didn't have a personal account, so I just created one under a fictitious name(Let's call it Bubba), so that I could at least access groups and read the content. No pics or friends or posts on that account. I never posted or pretended to be someone else, but I wanted to stay low-key and not get random friend requests and such, so I went with the alias.

Then I started learning more about FB ads and how it was a great way to drive traffic to sites(Clicks to website campaigns) while working on SEO plays. I already had the FB account and decided to setup an ads account and run traffic to a site I was working on filled with 10-12(and growing) or so 1000-2000 word articles(in the luxury automotive niche, nothing shady) with lots of nice pics as well. I ran traffic from October 2014 - Feb 2015, at which point I logged into the account and saw a message from FB that the account had been flagged for suspicious activity. I had used a credit card with my real name and info on that account, not realizing that it might trip some filters since it didn't match the account name. I'd also log in from home, work, and sometimes from my gf's place about 2hrs away. However, I didn't bother trying to get it unblocked because I didn't have any ID that verified that I was "Bubba" So I left that account alone.

Here we are in 2016, and I'm working on a new site. I would like to eventually turn on FB traffic again. This time I have a real a FB account with about 400 or so friends and a few pics, so if it ever got blocked I would be able to verify who I am with ID. Also have a new modem so a different IP as well. I know that there's a chance FB could block this account too, so I'm wondering if there are any preventative measures that I can take.

Should I just open the ad account, plug in the new site and new card info and hope for the best? Anyone have an account blocked and able to get it live again? Thanks.

Steve

Anyone else ever been in this situation or something similar? Wondering how you got around it or if FB is still banning accounts like crazy.

I don't think you should worry about losing your personal account as long as you create a real one with phone number and such. I know and heard of many people that lost their advertising accounts and none of them lost their personal accounts. Still I think there might be something you can do to get your personal account banned if you try had enough :-)

I had a personal account flagged back in 2012 (because I send PMs to few hundred people) and they asked me to identify my friends from a list of people.

Not sure about using the same credit card though.

I was actually talking about the FB ads account attached to my personal account. I'd like to avoid getting that one banned. Should I just use a different credit card in setting it up and hope for the best?

I would use a different card even if the name is the same there shouldn't be any issues. This might not get your advertiser account banned, but the shady stuff you will do later will

If you get it banned there is pretty much nothing you can do to get it back.

Thanks, I'm not planning on doing anything shady. I'm just sending clicks to website. I've been reading over their policies and TOS to make sure that I don't do anything to set them off once I'm up again. I'm calling the credit card company to get a new card number.

What about the actual account, do I need to set up with business manager or something? I'd read something about that, just can't recall where.

It's best to set up a real profile to run ads through. If you start a page, make your real life profile an admin and run ads through that profile only.

That being said, I have my ads running via paypal on a pseudonym account and it's been fine, ostensibly b/c they don't look for the emails to match the user profile maybe???

Lurking accounts should only be used to lurk ime. HTH.

Wondering....so if I orginally used my AMEX card attached to the alias account that got banned, would I be able to just request a new AMEX card # and use that for the new account?

Also wondering, if I use paypal as a payment option this time, but it's attached to the old AMEX card, would that still work on this new, legit account?

Btw, the new ad account will be attached to my personal FB account with my real name, pics, friends, etc. Hopefully that would lend itself to some longevity.
