What do you Think Facebook is the end of privacy or the beginning of new era?

  • I think we have to rethink how we look at privacy now as compared to what privacy was before. How much of our information , our privacy, are we willing to give up for convenience.

They need as much information as possible about users in order to offer better targeting options to advertisers. That's what free services come down to: you get hammered with advertising. Maybe they will release a payed subscription model in the future without ads.

Facebook is not the end of privacy because:

-no one is forcing you to use it(you need an user account if you want to advertise on Facebook though)
-you are the one making most of the information public about your interests, locations, job title, relationship status etc. Once you make them public expect advertisers to use this information
