What is a lot of traffic? What are low conversions? You really aren't giving much detail.

I'm pretty active in gaming communities on Reddit (mostly /r/dota2 and /r/tf2). I can tell you that those are the worst communities on the Internet in terms of making money off of them.

    Why?

    a) If you're using Amazon widgets/banners, they are blocked by ad blockers and the vast majority of gamers uses blockers.
    b) Even if they do not have an ad blocker, gamers on Reddit hate ads and are extremely suspicious of people actively trying to sell them stuff.
    c) Most of them are late teens/early adults, so typically don't have much money to buy stuff.

That's just reddit in general. With the exception of the age overall.

Amazon banners can work, as long as you are using your own redirect to the amazon redirect. Nick is correct about the widgets. Even if you use your own custom redirect and image, you need to make sure you aren't using it in an "ad widget" or else that gets blocked too.

Well this is what my experience is Reddit traffic is not convertible whether you are using it for selling or Monetizing alot of bot traffic as well.
