Organic Traffic From Social Networks

by DizzST
59 replies
Hey there,

Does anyone know how I can get an organic (not paid) traffic from social medias? On FB I am using public groups/fun pages that help me deliver some traffic to my website. But I've never promoted with Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc. Of course I could go with the paid ads (and eventually I will do it) but at this point just want to see if it's possible to bring customers without any commercial running

Thanks

S

All these advice including yours are really working, one more thing that you can combine them and increase your site traffic. Original content, informative posts and useful links play an important role in this deal.

I am not so good at Twitter and Instagram but I can help you with Facebook. I must say that you are at the right track. Facebook is the best place to bring targeted traffic. You have to share something interesting and informative to bring traffic. You may also spend little amount of money on Facebook Ads. It will help you to bring targeted traffic.

How many clicks per day you got? You boosted the FB fun page or promoted the website?

Share your site to your different social media accounts. The more you share, the more traffic you get. The more time you share, the better.

Is the site in your profile the one you want to promote on social media? If so, I'm not sure you will have much luck with Pinterest and Instagram. While some of the services you offer are in a visual field, most people using Pinterest are looking for DIY tips and inspiration for sites they are building themselves.

It's possible you could get some traffic if you post infographics regarding SEO tips, and maybe some portfolio work detailing your logo and branding aesthetic, but it may be a tough sell to convert a DIY'er over to purchasing your services.

Have you tried LinkdIn? Great networking ops there, and I think Twitter would also be great if you start following (and get followed by) small businesses and start-ups, and use targeted hashtags.

Organic (free) traffic takes time so just keep posting great content to the outlets you do use, and consider highly targeted FB ads to ramp it up. They are not at all expensive.

      Good luck!

Good points here. I like the SEO tips offer but I think although my services are in a visual field I could give DIY tips too. By the way I am adding copywriting, smm, blogging as additional services.

Yes, I've tried Linkedin and get some minor traffic from there. Also building the slides presentation to drop on SlideShare

If you work in a niche that is good to promote with images (e.g. t-shirts) then Instagram is a good source of organic traffic.

I mainly work with Facebook, Instagram e Twitter, the rest is bringing not much in my experience.

Connect you personal and business profile to establish authority. Now connect all the popular social media buttons with both the profiles so, the changes you make come across your social media followers. Add relevant friends, group members and followers. If you want to say something impressively expecting high response, you must hear and response to others' voices also.

Posting relevant tweets/hashtags on a daily basis. Twitter works fine for me now. Second place goes to Google +, then FB and Instagram. Yeah I must admit its pretty tough to bring organic traffic to the wesbite, takes so much time. Thinking of testing the FB paid ads in a couple of days lol. Also Pinterest and Tumblr look quite promising too. It's a long way to go but I don't give up!

Greetings to all! Fellow warriors I have one question regarding the newsletter campaign as a source of traffic to the website. I've just read a dozen of informative articles that explain what should be included in an newsletter to make you subscriber read it and not ignore. However some things are still unclear to me. Does of any of you have a positive experience in sending out newsletters? Maybe someone could suggest an alternative to MailChimp because I am sick with their fictional anti-spam policy and no customer service?. Thank you!

The quality of post and the soul touching capacity of it helps to engage more visitors towards it. It has been said that, "The more you impact your targeted audience by your content and image the more it can able to convert them in to your potential customer. The best way to send traffic that will actually mean something to you, is to create real authentic content and engage with other peoples posts, in your target market. If you do that on all platforms, you'll be good.

Yes, you can of course attract a good amount of traffic organically without going paid. With the help of all the social media platforms, like LinkedIn, Facebook, Google+ (On groups & business profiles). The only thing is you should well aware about your targeted audiences and should select the group which is relevant to your business with a creative and attractive content, which is recommendable both in the images and text.

  • Social media optimization (SMO) is the use of a number of social media outlets and communities to generate publicity to increase the awareness of a product, brand or event. Types of social media involved include RSS feeds, social news and bookmarking sites, as well as social networking sites, such as Twitter, and video and blogging sites. SMO is similar to search engine optimization in that the goal is to generate traffic and awareness for a website. In general, social media optimization refers to optimizing a website and its content in terms of sharing across social media and networking sites.

You should first create good and Interesting content on your FB page.
Make a well designed page.. not some ugly stuff.
Invite your friends and familly to like and follow your page.
On every posts, ask your followers to share and like. You can also make contests.
Go to websites and forums that talks about the same subject as your FB page and tell them to take a look at your page

Hi, sure, a great network is Pinterest. I have built over 2,500 followers on Pinterest in a brand new niche in less than 30 days. The outline of the steps would be:

    - Determine your niche
    - Determine big boards in your niche (do a search on Pinterest and choose "boards" from refining options)
    - Follow the followers of those boards
    - About 10-20% will follow you back
    - Post relevant content, your followers will click

You could even outsource this work.

    Cheers
    Greg

Twitter is an amazing tool that can act like a mailing list. A mass a lot of followers, and you can follow up on them en masse whenever you have something to share or promote. Your read rate will be higher considering the shorter - and more readable - nature of your messages. And if your read rate is high, your conversion rate should follow suit.

It's depend on your website type and the social media you choose to promote as well. I believe all social media platforms has their own importance and can be used wisely to generate traffic.
Although twitter has lost much of its charm since Instagram stepped in. If you can manage to get a huge list of targeted followers, you are on your way to revolutionary success over the internet.

Getting organic traffic from twitter is quite easy.

    You just have to regular.

Post daily tweets about your articles and don't forget to put a link signaling to your article but don't post too frequently. Mix your posts with other posts and then serve it to people

interact with people, like their tweets, comment on them. Basically, make a connection with them.

Follow people, for this, you can use tools like tweepi or crowdfire.

post how to's and interesting article. They work best.

I don't like Instagram, I don't feel it is very effective but you can always try it. Maybe it works great for it.

You can use Tumblr, getting likes and reshares is very simple on it. The only thing you need is followers (which is not very easy) and viral and interesting content.

On Facebook pages you can now 'tag' friends and family in any posts that are relevant to them. This will mean that their friends and contacts will also see the post and hopefully be encouraged to visit your site (if what you're offering is appealing).

Be careful not to spam though or that could have the opposite effect.

Twitter is too fast phased but you can give it a try.
On the other hand, Pinterest and Instagram is more on photo/video, if you think you can fit in then why not? Every platform is a possibility, always remember that!

I have never had any success with promoting anything on social media with free advertising. That's not to say it can't be done, that's just my experience.

But my advice would be this. If you decide to advertise on several different social media platforms, make sure you add a tracking link to your url. This way if you get success, you will know where that success came from.
