How to Be More Efficient on Social Media

Social media sites are one of the most effective opportunities for target marketing available in the modern world. When used correctly, any time spent tweeting and posting is essential to the success of a business rather than a misuse of valuable time and resources.

Any social media campaign's success is dependent on creating balance. If you don't spend enough time in the networking space, you aren't putting in the necessary effort to run a successful campaign, but if you spend too much time hash tagging you're taking away your attention and focus from other areas of the business that require your attention.

Here are some tried and tested methods that will ensure you spend as little time as possible in a social media setting but get the most effective results which will help increase your exposure and the success of your marketing campaign.

Schedule
There are some excellent methods of scheduling social media available. Programs such as Hootsuite allow you to create a handful of posts at a time and schedule them to appear at certain times in the future. When scheduling, you can make sure that your viewers always have a flow of engaging content and you won't have to do a thing.

Scheduling also helps you to remain consistent by making sure something is posted every 1-2 days as recommended by any effective social media strategy.

Direct your attention
Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, Tumblr and Reddit are some of the most popular platforms available to get your content out into the public arena. Realistically, keeping all of those sites up to date with enough content to make a difference would be a full-time job. And we'd be happy to bet our money that you have better things to do with your work hours! With that in mind, choosing one or two platforms to direct your attention will allow for a much more successful campaign that is given your full attention for a much smaller amount of hours each week.

Batching
Batching is an industry term and it involves spending a concentrated amount of longer time on a project rather than at shorter sporadic intervals. The theory is that this will allow you to concentrate on the task at hand and produce much more effective results. In relation to social media, batching for a few days out of the month to find all of the posts you need for the following month, and scheduling these too, will create a successful social media campaign that takes you away from your day-to-day tasks for a minimum amount of time.

According to the Social Media Marketing Industry Report published by the Social Media Examiner in 2014, as many as 92% of businesses now rely on social media as a successful marketing strategy.

Ensuring that processes surrounding the uploading of content are as streamlined as possible is in the best interests of everybody, not least of all your followers who are relying on you for informative, engaging and regular content.

Great post. We really have to use social media in a good way. Promote goodness instead of using them to create conflict and war among others. We should use social media in a good possible way.

    Hi,
For effective automation of social media their is an user friendly cross posting plugin name Blog2Social. A user can cross-post blog posts on social media automatically, customized and scheduled. It allows the post author to advance directly to the posting dashboard of Blog2Social Word-press, in which pre filled posting texts are provided.

    Hi all!

I have registered a few months ago but his is my first post I write because I am very interested in this topic.

Do you know if there is any tool to automatize the regular actions in Twitter?

For example, one of the things I do is to mark as favorite the tweets with the words "IKEA + Delivery" and I would like to have something that removes my manual interaction. Or at least reduces it.

    Thanks! Have a nice day!

Social media is crammed with distractions. Failing to track the time you spend in social media marketing could lead to inefficiency and waste of resources. Thank you for this post dansilvestre.

Great advice! I agree with "direct your attention" for sure! I tell my customers this all the time that it is better to focus on 1 or 2 social media platforms and be really good at them! If after awhile they feel comfortable it is OK to add a third social media platform.

I like your point on scheduling. Personally it has saved me a lot of hassle when I'm travelling or busy looking at some other important things. In a nutshell, it gives you enough time to concentrate on other issues.
