How To Download Only A Part Of A Youtube Video

Anybody knows how to do this on a mac?

I tried YouTube to MP4 & MP3 Converter and Video Download - ClipConverter.cc but for some reason it doesn't work.

Any other ways to do this? I don't want to download the whole youtube video, just parts of it?

Thanks!

You could use a screen recorder, and just record what you wish.

This video explains some legal issues with downloading YouTube videos (you may already know this)..

p:s: I would recommend OBS, (Open Broadcast Software) they have a Mac version, it is open source and free. It is not just for recording games, you can record your screen with sound. Many people use it to produce tutorials etc. There is countless tutorials on YouYube on how to use it.

The quality of the recordings are stunning with the right settings. As this is what most gamers use, you can imagine how fussy they are..smiles

But if you use YouTube content for other than private personal use, you are taking a risk.with a copyright claim.

If you want to use partial content for something like a documentary, you can contact the channel owner for permission, assuming the channel's content is not a copyright violation...

I don't think there any tool that would help you in downloading only certain part of video.
Every tool will download the whole video then you can use some video cutter or VLC player to use the video part that you actually need.

This is what I think you'll have to do also. Just download the whole video by using a site like keepvid.com and then use a video editing tool to cut out the part you want. There is no way I know of to download just a section only from a YouTube video. I've seen some screen recorded videos of a video before but quality was low to me.

The most efficient thing to do would be to download the whole video and cut out what you don't need afterwards. Your second option is to screencapture it up to a point but that's a much more fidgety solution.

I use Real player download for this purpose and it is great. I can trim the videos instantly and can also convert mp4 songs into mp3 with converter. Does not stop or hang in between like the others I have used.

    Hi there,

I think it is best if you 1.) Download the whole vid, 2.) Cut the part of the vid you want to keep by using a video editor, and viola! Say hello to just the vid part you want.

    Goodluck!

It's easy.. you can go to http://www.onlinemediaconverter.net then insert your youtube link and then you will see the bar shows the length of the video.. you can move either the beginning or the end buttonds of the bar to specify certain length you need.
