Anyone Have a Secret Facebook Group?

If you have a secret facebook group, can you invite anyone to join?

I have seen posts with people saying that if it's secret, then you can only invite someone that is your friend. But Facebook makes no mention of this, when explaining the difference between closed and secret.

I have a closed group that I need to make secret, but have hesitated. If you can't invite anyone fro secret, then I'm just going to go with slack.

I suppose I could set one up and test it.

    In a closed group, an "outsider"can see who is in the group, you can see the group, but not any of the posts.

    Nobody can see or even know about a secret group except the people who are in the group. You should be able to send an invite to a person who is not your friend. I have tried it in the past. Unless the Facebook TOS has changed recently.

    In "every" Facebook group - you can only add/invite someone who is a friend. In closed/open groups - people can request to join.

    as far as Secret groups regarding who can join - "Anyone, but they have to be added or invited by a member"

    Administrator of the group is the one who makes decision accept or not accpet new members to the group. From the potential member side: they send request to be added. From side of administrators they can invite.

    A secret group, by definition, is a secret and members wouldn't share any details.
    Anyone within the group CAN suggest a new member but they must seek permission from the admin to invite that person and then swear them to secrecy too.
