Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook, or how Gary Vee see Social Media

Ive just started reading Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook, written by the famous entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuck, Ive been wanted to read it for a while now, since I started working at this field, a lot of people has recommended it to me, I even lost a client once because he didnt wanted to hire someone who didnt know how to apply "Gary Vee strategy".

I have to say, at the start, it actually sounded a little weird to me, I googled the guy and many of the content he creates sounded like a lot of self promotion and almost none value at all, however I started to read his book today and I have to say it has some interesting points that I think are worth a good debate.

The whole thing about comparing a good Social Media Strategy with boxing sounded excellent to me, its just a perfect metaphor. But beside that, the book has some very interesting points about how to engage with audiences and how brands are using Social Media right now, no wonder why Gary´s agency is so sucessfull (or at least thats what I heard).

The main point of the book is that you need to create good relationships with your audiences before trying to sell them something or before launching a Call to action, and I couldnt agree more. So many marketers out there are insisting with 20th century strategies, where they just send some traditional messages and wait for results, but Social Media is not like the middle 1960s television, they are quite different than that, and they audiences will not response to old strategies that insist on treating them like sheeps.

As I say before, im just starting the book, so im sure there are a lot of interesting points that I will came across, I would love if we could discuss Gary´s points.

Have you read the book? What do you think about the whole "Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook" strategy? Have you tried to implement it on your Social Media? If so, did you get some good results out of it?
