Some basics to create a killer explainer video!!

Compiling a perfect explainer video is no different than putting up slides on your power point for presentation. The only difference from the latter is that you have to spice your video up with a voice over from a written script and you have to be as concise as possible. Some say that you can mask the shortcoming of your product by putting up an awesome explainer video which explains a basic idea using modern contemporary themes. In this thread , I'll list some basics that every startup should consider before resorting to this marketing avenue :

Script Matters: Guys it's the backbone of your marketing campaign!! Your script should consist of the following elements :

1. What's the pitch all about?

2. What problems you're trying to solve?

3. Target audience?

4. How does your product work?

5. Depending on your team consensus or product theme choose a tone that's either professional , conversational or humorous

6. Call to action

Keep it short: A good introductory explainer video falls within the range of 100-120 seconds. Conventionally , the duration is not enough to convey the full in's and out's of the product which is good because we are not over here to get into detail. Our sole purpose is to incite interest towards the product by using attractive graphics.

Put more emphasis on benefits: Talk about how a certain feature of the product can influence the life of the customer instead of just stressing about the specs of the product only.

Use a professional voice:

Your product marketing depends on a good audio quality and don't ruin it with a shaky version. For beginners, you can start with a site called voice.com.

Adjust the theme with a music:

A perfect background sound can entice range of emotions among the listeners and can keep the interest alive throughout the duration of the whole clip. Use audiojungle or tunefruit to find a suitable theme music.

3...2....1..Launch: It's a crucial time because that's where all your efforts will generate results. Therefore chose a video host like vimeo PRO or Brightcove and market your video through your website or social media to spread the word.

Best of luck

Cheers

    J,

When you put it like this, it does sound like it is a piece of cake, lol. Yet, for those who know what they're doing this is undoubtedly the truth.

I have been in contact with my partners and colleagues. I see they put a great deal of time, efforts and money to produce quality video material. I'm not surprised, in the long run it's totally worth it.

Would be nice if you could provide some additional details. This way you just gave us a teaser, lol.

Your point is absolutely valid. Creating a video content is not a piece of cake and requires hours of hard work and commitment. But I just provided a general recipe which I think can clear out the thinking process for all the starters. So you can say that it's kind of a teaser and there are tonnes of things that can be written on this topic .

      Cheers

You know what, unless it isn't some kind of a know-how thing, you should create a series of threads. Why not? Some things you can share, while others you can use to attract potential customers among other things. I'm a newbie here, so I'm not quite this is a legitimate thing to do. Yet, either way, guys who know their stuff have every right to benefit from them. Cheers.
