A big 'NO' to these annoying things Facebook marketers do!!

Well everyone wants a piece of the business out there and are willing to do whatever it takes to get it. But sometimes don't you think that the way they approach their target demographic is kind of annoying?

Social media is flooded with people like these who will drag you along with their irritating advertisement strategies. Here are some things that I personally wish I could do something to stop:

1. Tagging unwanted people : Oh Lord that's the worst one. I don't want to see how good you look or what kind of shampoo you're selling. I seriously don't want to be part of it without my approval. Many people end up abusing this privilege in desperation to get more likes and attention.

Seriously DON't do it !!!!!

2. Playing with people's emotion: Now let's talk about the guilt game played by many out there. For example ' Like if you think this baby is the cutest or share if you think Prince Harry will marry Meghan Clarke .....etc. And the worst one: Facebook will donate $1 for every like on this post to the people effected from civil war. I mean how low you can get to play with these kind of things just to get some attention!!

3. Being added on FB groups without permission: Every month I leave countless discussion groups that are made up with an intention to promote some brand. So in the end your notification bar is filled with messages that you have no intention to read. Pheww!!

4. Clickbait freaks: A sample tagline: 'Russia has installed nuclear warheads on the border with Ukraine.World is at the brink of WWIII'. Now when you open the link you end up finding Putin riding at the back of the bear. Authenticity in portraying information is diminishing from this modern marketing campaigns. At least be honest with the content you're trying to convey.

If you have any experience with any annoying FB marketing schemes do share on this thread.

Cheers

Bulk marketing rather than targeted marketing…
    - Not being an active participant in the online groups you might be on - you just joining, then pop on every now & again to share your ads, product links, or promotions (then poof - off to another to complete the same).
    - Not understanding your audience
    - Over-selling

I would replace that with messaging a potential fan and telling them politely about the page in a way that would make them at least a bit interested. I think this would be both more effective and unlikely to be annoying, if you target the right people.

Certainly being tagged in posts you don't want to be and being added to groups without permission are two of my pet peeves. It's not a perfect world, you'll always have people who don't know how to market properly on Social Media.
