Did you ever buy retention views? Where?

Are them good for rankin a youtube videos or it's a totally waste of time and
money?

  I don't have experience with it myself, but if you read someone telling it caused issues or video removal, it's better to avoid that service. To good research before you use any of these services. Especially if you can't afford losing your videos.

Yes they can be very effective. But be very careful where you buy and the methods they use. I've got several videos removed because of some bad services from fiverr

Obviously RETENTION VIEWS are Black Hat technique.

The question is: what are the parameters and probably where to buy to have the better service and not get video banned?

Do they work for rankin videos?

High Retention views wont make you any money and they wont get you banned as they are adsense safe views.
I can suggest you to give youtube devils a try.
