The ONLY Instagram scheduling hack.

Instagram has repeatedly warned it's users that if they use a third party app to post their content they are violating their terms of service and risk having their account closed down taking all of their content and followers with it.

If this happens, you will have to start again to build up the following that you worked so hard for.

There are so many posting and scheduling apps around now that it's ridiculous - schedugram, Later (formerly Latergramme). Hootesuite, Buffergram...the list goes on.

The problem with these apps is two-fold.
1) They only schedule your posts so you still have to go in and post the content yourself, this means that you're paying a subscription and still have to go into the app and manually post anyway.
2) They post directly putting ALL of your content at risk. I don't know about you but I've worked really hard to build up my following so I wouldn't even consider it.

For social media managers, or people who are looking after a few accounts posting content every day can become time consuming and counter productive so try this workaround hack that I use.

Prepare your content each week or month for your individual accounts and email yourself with the post, comment and a list of hashtags. Each day/at the appropriate time bring up Instagram on your phone and copy and paste the post and your comments.

It might not sound like rocket science but it has saved me hours each week finding and posting content.

Because my emails are on my phone too, I can post on the go as and when the client requests.

This way you can prepare your content in one go as you can do with other social media, there's no risk to your existing content AND you don't have to pay a ridiculous subscription fee!

If I'm behind the eight-ball with this, I wish someone would have told me sooner!!

All the services I have seen are the same as you said they just remind you that it's time to open your Instagram app and post manually so I don't bother with them as I know to post each day or several times a day but it does get tedious with 60 Instagram accounts so I do miss days sometimes as I'm busy with other things also in my life and in Internet Marketing. I have seen a few services that post but I never trusted them since Instagram says no.

All I can say is I hope they add scheduled posting right in the Instagram app soon as Facebook owns Instagram and Facebook has scheduled posting. I'm sure they understand that businesses can't spend all day on social media accounts doing tedious tasks when they have their business to run so I'm hoping they implement scheduled posts soon. It would free up loads of my time.

The reason that they haven't is because it defeats the object of the app.

Instagram is designed to be instant hence 'insta' It's not designed as a marketing tool but rather to show people what you're doing right there in that moment.

By implementing a scheduling tool; third party or otherwise, it loses it's point of difference and becomes just like any other social media app.

    THANK YOU!!
I've been paying a subscription to Later which is not cheap by any means! The best it comes up with is to send me a reminder when it's time to post. Everyone raves about it but as far as I can see all it does is add in an extra step and doesn't save time at all.
The way you've said it makes a lot of sense though, I suppose as it's designed as an Instant app, scheduling posts isn't using it for it's original design.
That being said, Instagram do provide business tools to help you get better engagement so they know that people use it for business and want to support this but I guess they don't want to lose their authenticity of why it was originally created.
This is a great tip Words. While it's not going to save much more time than using Later with the copying and pasting involved, it will save me a lot more money!
    Cheers Ads.

      You're very welcome Ads!
I almost felt a bit silly posting because it's so simple, so I'm glad you got some use out of it! Instagram is a double edged sword for me, I like it for personal but for business it's a great tool but I don't really like using it, it's not convenient.

Hi wordsandbees, it's a nice clever approach from you. Emailing all your content to yourself, and then posting it on the go.

Well, with a flood of automation apps, it was just a matter of time for instagram to realize how this is hurting their community. I have seen many instagramers whining about their accounts getting banned, yet there are social media "gurus" talking about how to automate your instagram...such an irony.

Due to technicalities involved, I couldn't get a grisp of automation softwares...Happy to see the playing field is leveled now!

    Thanks
