Who else has got bored by instagramers motivational rhetoric?

Since Instagram arrived in the picture, it surely has converted many regular IMers into six-figure gurus. There was a time when "motivational quotations" were receiving great response from wanna -be entrepreneurs and similar.

Today, I think, it has become more of a noise. Everyone is replicating the same motivational rhetoric, with out any innovation. Not to mention the ones crafting stupid, nonsense quotations by themselves (well, they still manage to get some likes from cupcakes).

To me, it has lost its charm. And someone has to find other ways of marketing their "shiny objects" on Instagram....because with each day more and more users are becoming sensitized to Deepak Chopra's googled quotations.

Who else is with me on this?

I like them and do them myself, but I mix it up with informative pics, quotes, and videos along with just random pics of cool stuff. I guess it depends on if they are creating the content themselves or just taking pictures from google. If they aren't original it is kind of annoying because anybody can just download pics from google and post.

You are quite right. There are thousands of wanna-be entrepreneurs, who are just copy pasting the stuff from google, maybe writing the same quote on a different background and "motivating" others when they don't have the motivation themselves to do some real work.

People have finally started to notice this. If you are not adding value (and only throwing random quotations about hustle and stuff) the odds are you are going to lose your followings very soon.

Good to hear you are really putting in real effort.

      Thanks

Just like the meme accounts. There are countless copycats just regurgitating content.

I'll have to agree with what tmnsky said.

Plus I'd rather hear a motivational quote come from someone I know who've done something successful or is in the works of it.

You are right. This reminds of a famous saying: "Those who can, do. Those who can't do, teach."

This perfectly fits here. Many instagrammers are motivating others when they themselves need it the most. They haven't build any empire, yet they teach people how to do it with one-liner quotations.

Well, the ones who are really successful - it suits them. I am ready to hear from them. But those who are "in the process" should talk about the process only.

Thanks for adding in. Much appreciated.

There are instagramers regurgitating content of OTHERS. And there are facebookers copying content from Instagram and posting them on their pages. With the arrival of automation, I receive dozens of likes from people, each of them expecting to follow them in return.

But hey I know what you are doing there. And you can't grab my attention with bots.

Thanks for adding in. Much appreciated.

That is inevitable as it what the trend is, you'd just have to think something that will help you stand out from the rest. Get your creativity working.

Hi Chan, really that's the whole point. How can you stand out from the noise? If everyone is talking about motivation, maybe you start criticizing motivation and promote discipline instead..

That's how you can stand out.

      Thanks for adding in..

Motivational posters are a minority of what I see on Instagram. I mostly follow friends, celebrities, and artists. So I don't get bored of motivational stuff because it is just a small fraction of what i see. Maybe follow less of that and you won't get bored. Just a thought. Cheers!

I would have to say it is getting a little old and to be honest I am surprised why people are copying this trend.

Some of my favourite instagram pages are doing the complete opposite to great effect.

One in particular, rather than putting up glossy images, quotes, and stages photos, is putting up the 'real' world images of her life. Warts and all and it works a treat. The engagement is massive and she gets so many likes, comments and shares across all channels it is ridiculous. For a post she did yesterday hanging out the laundry she even got in the Daily Mail.

I get that people are flicking through social media for escapism, and to look for a world that is far more enchanting than their own, but a little bit of shock value and realness stands out and it is a great way to build a following and stand out from the crowd.

Another person I follow completely baulks the trend of glossy quotes and fluffy images and gets out there will funny, slightly shocking snaps of herself, colleagues and family that are laugh out loud (without being crass) and make you stop mid scroll to check it out even more.

Sure, there it's easy to have the same old process - informative pics, quotes, videos, shiny happy type posts, but throw in some real life for good measure and see how engagement spikes.
