How do you get targeted traffic from YouTube?

Every time I post a video no one ever sees it. Even if I do a search for the keywords I used in my tags I still can't find my videos. Is there a secret to making your YouTube video rank high on YouTube for specific keywords?

Right now I use tags, I make a good description and make sure it's professionally written. I'm not sure what else I can do to get relevant traffic?

    Getting traffic from YouTube must be one of the most popular topics for WSOs right now. Do a search and you'll find loads of info on here. Yes there are standard ways to get videos to rank but don't choose massively competitive keywords.
    Some tips: keywords in video filename and file metatags before upload. Keyword in video title description and tags. Upload thumbnail with keyword in title and metas. Get views. Optimise channel with keywords in description, title.

    Make video 100% relevant to keyword and use keyword as the title for video.

    One other thought. I think I have seen evidence that YT "ghosts" channels it doesn't like for some reason. Despite optimisation, videos on those channels never rank anywhere even for low competition keywords. It has happened to me. You can check by creating a new channel and trying again. Also check your channel settings for YT infractions: red marks in the settings. Good luck.
