Struggling With YouTube Marketing

As much as this is kind of embarrassing to admit, I've been struggling with advertising my channel for years. I believe part of that has to do with periods of me just giving up. But I've recently decided to give YouTube marketing another chance and researched techniques and watch several tutorials on YouTube advertising. So far the information I've took away from my research was to add words people commonly search for into the tags, write a distinctive description of the video and make a thumbnail that will catch people's attention. It's only been a few days so I don't know if it's too soon to be asking for help but I haven't seen too much progress happening. I know it might be awhile before I would see potential subscribers but I thought I would at least see an increase in views and see a few comments. Does anyone have any advice for me? I like to see what I'm doing wrong.

Here's links to two of my channels:

You might want to optimize your channels for SEO. Make sure to give threads revolving around video SEO a read. Also having a good quality does not mean success, it's good video plus the scripting part that does the wonders.

Some good tips there, I agree with them But to add to it, if I were you, I'd definitely read this advice on YouTube SEO. You'll get some hints on improving your overall ranking.

    Hi DoubleCee,

Have you ever thought of advertising your YouTube channel on YouTube using YouTube Video Ads?

It's the quickest way to get a highly targeted audience viewing and subscribing to your channel.

It's really not hard to rack up millions of views, at pennies per view, using Video Ads.

There are two things that are important if you want to drive huge amount of traffic to your website i
    1. Contents
    2. User engagement
To increase the YouTube subscribers, you need to update your YouTube channel regularly. You also need to post unique contents.User always prefer to read unique contents. It is also one of the reasons that content is called the king and to increase the traffic and subscribers, you also need to engage with other users. User engagement will allow the business to spread the awareness of the brand or a product in the market.

    Hi DoubleCee,

860 or so subscribers isn't too shabby for something you haven't been pushing.

Maybe you could try doing some spoken interviews or even just you talking to camera about the music you are mixing and link the spoken video to the music video via including the description in the tags and putting them into as playlist together.

That way you could give youtube some text and words to rank the videos on.

You could add some annotations and transcriptions also.

I'm not sure how they rank music videos other than possibly the retention time and the social shares and embeds etc.

You could do short spoken to camera breakdowns of what the following music mix is about and the inspiration behind it.

If you just want to drive some social sharing and views then you might want to check out virool.com It is a paid service but can add some juice when you want increase views and shares etc.

If you are thinking about paid advertisements as others have mentioned then getting the ads shown on the right videos is crucial. One person who has a good handle on this aspect is Gideon Shalwick. He has an advertising placement tool and video marketing system called Veeroll - veeroll.com

Worth a look if you are heading down the paid advertising route as it works hand in hand with Google adwords video placements.

    Hope some of that helps.

    Best regards,

    Ozi
