Automating Affiliate Marketing through Instagram

Hi guys,

New to the forum but not new to the SEO world. Since Instagram has been explosive in growth, I am wondering (or pitching) this idea out to you all and see what you truly think.

What if say, you have an account on Instagram soley for redirecting traffic to an affiliate page of your choosing? Say for example, you are drop shipping on Ali Express(although I would argue there are more non-tangible products or services that can be sold) and say, you want to redirect instagram followers or audience targeted to that niche through simple target marketing. Can you have Instagram set up in a way where you link the referral page and direct traffic through it in an automated sense with cost basis being lower obviously then the return on investment?

    It's been done and has been done an infinite amount of times.

    What a lot of instagram marketers do is create profiles with engaging content related to products of niche, description has a URL buy link associated. I suspect this will also change with the current Instagram Live trend.

    Adding another layer on top of that to drive traffic to their profiles, they setup using an Autofollower / Instagram bot that find profiles with a large density of their target demographic already in place, go through the list - following and unfollowing.

    General rule of thumb if I recall correctly:

    - be weary of the rate limit of follow unfollow
    - don't be consistent with timing (some autofollowers have this feature)
    - ensure there's a human element (ie. don't spam a bunch of affiliate links)


    Not following the above will have your account banned basically.

    With regards to Instagram posts, you can use an automated post scheduler. Sometimes these two tools are combined in one, I'm not sure of what exists out there that automates the entire profile to like, post and follow/unfollow - but I'd definitely be using the profile as my own as well to engage other users.

    I'm sure some stronger Instagram marketers can pitch in to better marketing techniques but this was one of the first popular ones around.

    Hey there,

    What I'm doing is building up a Niche page, getting followers (leads), I post great content for them, and then every once in a while drop a picture that says link in bio. That link directs them to my squeeze page, email-opt in, and I gain lifetime leads! For FREE!

    You're right Instagram is gold. Although, I haven't done a lot of paid advertising on Instagram though. (I like the idea of keeping it as free/cheap as possible)
