Add new ads to existing ad sets

Hey guys,

I am getting different answers from different people here, wonder what the community says.

We continuously produce new ads we want to use for our campaign that I would like to add to several ad sets. Some people say 'never mess with ad sets once they are live' - rather create a new ad set with the new ads and see how they perform.

Others are saying I can go ahead and add new ads to existing ad sets without really hurting the performance of the ad set.

What do you guys think or what do you do?

thanks,
Johannes

You can also create new ad sets through Ads Manager. To do this, go to your Ads Manager and click through to the ad-level of the campaign you wish to add it to. You'll see a button to 'Create Ad' as shown in the screenshot below

Thanks, I understand that part. Question is: Is it best practice to not touch a running ad set at all or can I add new ads to an already running ad set?

I understand that making major changes to the settings of an ad set (target group etc) is not recommended but how about adding new ads?
