Should business post temporary problems they're facing on social?

Heya!

In preparing a social media strategy for a client I am suggesting they should focus on posts that will attract new customers and bring them into the store. I'm saying they should post sales, events, and engage their followers with relevant products/services that they might be interested in. They want to post issues their store faces. They want to post when their debit machine isn't working or when they're out of inventory of a particular product/service. More immediate, short term challenges that they face.

Rather than me saying no, I wanted to connect with you guys and get your feedback.

Should they post problems like their debit machine being down temporarily?

They should but not the extent of the full detail whatever the issue is.
Just post a friendly reminder or notice is likely sufficient enough.
I personally believe that some things could be handled in a better way internally without attracting outside attention. Everyone is almost in social media nowadays, including your competition.
    Good luck my friend
