Just to clarify, you're linking them to the post... not directly to the
video on a third party site like You Tube.

Facebook rewards engagement. That means a Like, click, Share or comment.

The more of each you have the wider audience FB will distribute the ad to so
have those friends do all four if possible.

That would help boost the visibility in the news feed if your trying to gain more reach without paying for an ad. But if you are paying to promote it then you're wasting money each time a friend reacts to the video. If your paying for an ad let Facebook get it in front of potential customers for you who are worth the cost.

Yea exactly.. If you are paying fb to promote your ad and beside you are giving the url to your friends to react on your ad, this might eat your money everytime you get a reaction..

You could simply invite them to your page and after they reach your page they can react on your video ad and in this case those reactions and views will be counted as organic visits or free views...

As for example i have had created a page and was promoted a short video recently using fb paid ads.. And i saw i got total of around a half million visits from which about 200 k visits was from free traffic..

And fb never charge you if the visistors are of your out of targeted audience...

Not true. I only pay for clicks to my external page.

There is no charge to click on the ad itself to read it, or to
comment, Like or Share. If you're managing your ad properly the
external clicks are cheap. 40 or 50 clicks on the external link
will bring you far greater benefit than the cost of the links unless
you're paying ridiculous amounts per click... in which case you
      shouldn't be doing this anyway.

If your paying for impressions then by all means have them click
your links. There is no additional charge for that. That said, I would
never pay for impressions. I only pay for specific actions.

  • Facebook algorithm have permission to add you video. But your business plan totally depends on your video quality and subject.
