Impostor/Fake Accounts - Do I Mention When Applying For Twitter Verification?
I am quite confident that my brand account warrants verification on Twitter, but I still want to make sure my application is optimized.
One particular area concerns the existence of "impostor accounts" that have shared fake news using my branding/image/etc. Trading off our reputation, they have generated hundreds of re-Tweets on these fake stories.
Do I mention this in my application?
On the one hand, it proves that we're important enough to imitate. That these fake stories fared so well also confirms the credibility associated with the brand -- people believed these stories because they trust us.
On the other hand, it seems like it could be a bit tacky.
