Strategy - Instagram as the new email?

Hey guys, I am building a marketing strategy for a client and I would love to get new ideas for Instagram DM strategies.

Most of you will agree that Instagram is creeping up to become the next email and I am trying to convince a client to get started with this strategy :

1) Use Instagram stories posts as hooks - get followers to send a DM to the brand. (ex: Q&A)

2) Send a simple thank you message to the followers and ask they want to join an exclusive DM group and get VIP content.

3) Offer series of exclusive content in different DM groups of multiple audiences with targeted messages. (also, use these DM groups as focus groups to pre-launch new products)

So far this is what I have. Opinions are welcome!

    Yeah it can really work well if you can prove that you want the wellness of the subscriber, If you will pitch them with an offer immediately or just after few days you will lose credibility.

    Yes, this is a good point. The business doesn't have much credibility yet, so I wanted to innovate. What would you suggest to add more credibility?

      I have tried and it is actually a pretty easy way to target your audience. We have to provide the right type of offer to make them engage.
